Labour of Love is the third Extended Play by Australian alternative rock group Frente!. It was released outside of Australia in 1993. The EP peaked at number 10 on the US Top Heatseekers chart. [2]
JT Griffith of All Music gave the EP 4.5 out of 5 saying; "[Labour of Love is] a collection of full songs and acoustic demos, the highlight is the standout cover of New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle". Five of the seven tracks are two minutes or less. "Labour of Love" and "Not Given Lightly" are representative of the Frente! sound: acoustic love songs built around Angie Hart's Lisa Loeb-like vocals. "Paper, Bullets, Walls" finds Frente! in a more upbeat groove. Overall, the band had a classic pre-grunge, alternative sound." [3]
Double J named the title song in the top fifty Australian songs of the 1990s, saying, "This bare-bones song showed the world why we were all so captivated by Hart's voice. For all the comparisons people made to other female folk singers, it was clear she injected something unique and real into her performance." [4]
Yellowcard is an American rock band that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997. The lineup currently consists of lead singer Ryan Key, lead guitarist Ryan Mendez, bassist Josh Portman and violinist Sean Mackin. Primarily a pop-punk group, their music is recognized for having a distinct sound in its genre, primarily due to the prominent use of a violin in their songs, and are best known for their singles "Ocean Avenue", "Only One", and "Lights and Sounds". Released in 2003, "Ocean Avenue" and its parent album of the same name are both certified double platinum in the US by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); "Only One" and the band's 2006 album Lights and Sounds have been certified gold. The band has released ten studio albums, with its most recent, Yellowcard, released on September 30, 2016. Following this release and supporting tour, the band broke up. The band reunited in September 2022 for a performance at Riot Fest and embarked on a 20th-anniversary tour for Ocean Avenue in 2023. A new EP, Childhood Eyes, released on July 21, 2023.
American Hi-Fi is an American rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1998. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Stacy Jones, lead guitarist Jamie Arentzen, bassist and backing vocalist Drew Parsons, and drummer Brian Nolan. Prior to the group's formation, Jones was well known for being a drummer in the successful alternative rock bands Veruca Salt and Letters to Cleo. American Hi-Fi has a close relationship with Miley Cyrus, whose band shares two members with American Hi-Fi. The group has a mixed musical style that includes influences from pop-punk, alternative rock, and power pop.
Frente! is an Australian folk-pop and indie pop group which originally formed in 1989. The original line-up consisted of Simon Austin on guitar and backing vocals, Angie Hart on lead vocals, Tim O'Connor on bass guitar, and Mark Picton on drums.
"Bizarre Love Triangle" is a song by English rock band New Order, released as a single in November 1986 from their fourth studio album, Brotherhood (1986), which reached the top five on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart, and No. 5 on the Australian ARIA Charts in March 1987.
Windows and Walls is the eighth album by American singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg, released in 1984. The first single, "The Language of Love", reached No. 13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it his last Top 40 hit. Although the follow-up, "Believe in Me", missed the Top 40 of the pop chart, peaking at No. 48, it became the singer's fourth No. 1 song on the Billboard adult contemporary chart.
"The Good Life" is a song by American rock band Weezer, released on October 29, 1996 as the second single from their second studio album, Pinkerton (1996), as well as an EP in Australia. "The Good Life" was rush-released by the record company to try to save the commercially failing album, but was not successful.
Marvin the Album is the Australian folk-pop and alternative rock group Frente!'s debut album, released 24 November 1992, and recorded in 1992 at Platinum Studios in Melbourne, Australia. Music videos were made for the tracks "Accidently Kelly Street" [sic], "Ordinary Angels" and "No Time", each of which were also released as singles. Additional videos were made for "Lonely" and "Bizarre Love Triangle" when these tracks were appended to the international release.
Leonardo's Bride were an Australian pop band that formed in 1992. It consisted of Abby Dobson on lead vocal and acoustic guitar; Dean Manning on electric guitar, piano, wurlitzer and hammond; Jon Howell on drums; and Patrick Wong on bass guitar, backing vocals and cello. They released two EPs, Debut and Temperamental Friend and two albums, Angel Blood and Open Sesame, before disbanding in 2001.
Angela Ruth Hart, billed as Angie Hart, is an Australian singer best known for her role as lead vocalist in the alternative pop rock band Frente! and the indie pop duo Splendid with her then-husband Jesse Tobias. Hart's solo career commenced in 2006 with the release the album, Grounded Bird (2007).
Shape is the second studio album from Australian band Frente!, released in July 1996. The album was recorded in Spain in 1995 and produced by Cameron McVey and Ted Niceley. It was not as successful as their debut album.
"Tingly" is a song recorded by Pop! featuring Angie Hart. It was written by Amy Flower and John Richards of About Six Feet, and released as Flower's solo side project. Recorded in an hour on Good Friday 1995, the vocals were performed by Angie Hart, who was then in the highly successful band Frente. It was released on October 9, 1995 and became a popular song on the radio, making it on to Triple J Hottest 100, 1995. The single peaked at #92 on the Australian ARIA singles chart in December 1995. It was also featured in dozens of episodes of Neighbours and Home and Away, and was featured on the first Home and Away soundtrack album.
Our Last Night is an American post-hardcore band formed in 2004, consisting of brothers Trevor (vocals) and Matthew Wentworth and Timothy Molloy (drums). The band is known for its post-hardcore and alternative metal renditions of popular pop songs.
American Gothic is the fourth EP by The Smashing Pumpkins. The EP was announced on the band's website on December 19, 2007 with songwriter Billy Corgan describing it as a continuation of their 2007 album Zeitgeist. It was released digitally on January 2, 2008 and as a CD in the United Kingdom on February 11, 2008.
Destination Failure is the third album by the Chicago-based pop punk band the Smoking Popes, released August 26, 1997 by Capitol Records. It was their second, and final, album for Capitol and their last before their nearly seven-year hiatus; their covers album The Party's Over was rejected by Capitol and the Smoking Popes disbanded in December 1998, reuniting in November 2005 to record At Metro. Destination Failure was not as successful as the band's previous album Born to Quit; it failed to chart despite the release a single and music video for "I Know You Love Me". The album was recorded at the Chicago Recording Company and at Conway Studios in Hollywood with producer Jerry Finn and recording engineer Phil Bonnet. Bonnet had worked with the band since early in their career, engineering and producing their EPs Break Up and 2 as well as Born to Quit.
"Not Given Lightly" is a song by New Zealand singer-songwriter Chris Knox. It was released in 1989 and is among Knox's best known songs. While the song did not chart when originally released in 1989, it has since become well known from its use in New Zealand film and television productions, especially in a television advertisement for Vogel's bread in 2007.

Clunk is the second extended play (EP) by Australian alternative rock group Frente!. The five-track EP, produced by Daniel Denholm, was released in March 1992 via the White Label imprint of Mushroom Records. It peaked at No. 3 on Australia's ARIA Singles Chart. Its lead track, "Ordinary Angels", won Breakthrough Artist – Single at ARIA Music Awards of 1993. That track also appeared on their debut album, Marvin the Album, in November and was released as a single in Europe and North America in 1993.
Whirled is the debut extended play by Australian alternative rock group Frente!. It was released in August 1991, and was released in 6 different coloured covers: brown, black, blue, gold, pink and yellow.
Lonely is the fourth extended play (EP) by Australian alternative rock group Frente!. It was released in Australia in May 1994 and peaked at number seven on the Australian Singles Chart, earning a gold sales certification. Prior to the EP's release, "Lonely" was originally issued as a three-track single in January 1994 and peaked at number 88 on the Australian Singles Chart.
Live at Fez, New York 2004 is the first live album by Australian alternative rock group Frente!. It was recorded in New York City in 2004 The album was released as a download in 2014 to pledgers of Frente!'s pledgemusic campaign to re-release a remastered Marvin the Album . It was self-released and unable to chart.
