The Lake Parade is a large technoparade who is organised every year from 1997, on month of July, in Geneva on the quay of Lake Geneva. [1]
The Lake Parade was one of the main Geneva cultural events of the early 2000's. Every year thousands of people went to and followed the parade and then participated in the after parties in the evening. After an interruption in 2016, [2] the Lake Parade took place once again in 2017.
Three editions are not organised due to the COVID-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2022 but on the other hand, a successful [3] 21st edition happens in 2023.
The Parade typically starts at parc Mon Repos, on the right side of Lake Geneva. People wishing to participate actively in the Parade by being on one of the Lovemobiles, should be there at 2:00 PM if they want a chance to get on one of the mobiles.
The Parade starts moving at around 4:00 PM and moves slowly along the quay to the other side of the lake right up to the Quai Gustave Ador. There the Parade stops and the night continues with the Lake Sensation.
Every year there are up to 20 Lovemobiles. Generally each one is sponsored by a different company who decorates the Mobile with its colors. Pioneer once decorated a Mobile using large plasma displays. Each Mobile will generally have several DJs but who shall often play the same kind of music, the most common ones being Techno, Trance, Electro and House. The company sponsoring the Mobile can also insist that those wishing to ride on it wear a certain color theme so as to give a uniform look to the car.
After the Parade, all the Lovemobiles shall come to a stop and all wishing to may climb on. Stages shall also be set up so DJs may perform alongside professional dancers and light shows.
The Love Parade was an electronic dance music festival and technoparade that originated in 1989 in West Berlin, Germany. It was held annually in Berlin from 1989 to 2003 and in 2006, then from 2007 to 2010 in the Ruhr region. Events scheduled for 2004 and 2005 in Berlin and for 2009 in Bochum were canceled.

A technoparade is a parade of vehicles equipped with strong loudspeakers and amplifiers playing electronic dance music. It resembles a carnival parade in some respects, but the vehicles are usually less elaborately decorated. Unlike some carnival parades, a technoparade does not share the tradition of bombarding the spectators with sweets. However, the revellers do occasionally throw confetti and spray foam from the vehicles onto the crowd.
The Street Parade is with over 1 Million visitors the most attended technoparade in the world, since the end of Love Parade 2010. It takes place in Zurich, Switzerland and is the largest annual event in Zurich. Officially a demonstration for freedom, love and tolerance attended by up to a one million people, it proceeds along the side of Lake Zurich on the second Saturday of August.
Free tekno, also known as tekno, freetekno and hardtek, is the music predominantly played at free parties in Europe. The spelling tekno is deliberately used to differentiate the musical style from techno. The music is fast and it can vary between 150 and 185 bpm and is characterised by a pounding repetitive kick drum. Belgian hardcore techno is an early style of hardcore techno that emerged from new beat as EBM and techno influences became more prevalent in this genre. This particular style has been described as an "apocalyptic, almost Wagnerian, bombastic techno", due to its use of dramatic orchestral stabs and menacing synth tones that set it apart from earlier forms of electronic dance music. It flourished in Belgium and influenced the sound of early hardcore from Netherlands, Germany, Italy, UK and North America during the early-1990s, as a part of the rave movement during that period.
