Laldanmawia Ralte (born 19 December 1992), popularly known as Danmawia, is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Indian Super League club NorthEast United.

Club career

Born in Mizoram, Laldanmawia Ralte "The Sialhawk Express" began his career in the Mizoram Premier League Season 1 with Dinthar where he won the Best Player of the Season award and was tied for the top goalscorer in the league's first season. [1] [2] While playing club football, Laldanmawia also represented the Mizoram football team in various competitions. [3] He is an important player of the Mizoram, Santosh Trophy champion team.

In early 2016, Laldanmawia left Mizoram to play in Tamil Nadu for MSU in the Chennai Super Division. [4] After the season, he returned to Mizoram to sign with Chenmari West in the Mizoram Premier League. [5]

Aizawl

In December 2016 it was revealed that Laldanmawia had signed with I-League side Aizawl for the 2016–17 season. [6] He made his professional debut for the side in the league on 13 January 2017 against Minerva Punjab. He came on as a 62nd minute substitute for Albert Zohmingmawia as Aizawl came out as 1–0 winners. [7]

NorthEast United

On 3 September 2021, NorthEast United announced that they had completed the signing of Danmawia on a two-year deal. [8] He made his debut for the club on 20 November against Bengaluru FC in a 4–2 loss. [9] [10] He scored his first goal on 13 December in a 1–5 lost against Hyderabad FC. [11] Danmawia scored his second goal of the season on 22 January 2022 against Chennaiyin. By the end of the season Danmawia made thirteen appearance for Highlanders and scored four goals.

International career

In June 2018, he was called up to the national team for the Intercontinental Cup, where he made his debut in the final against Kenya in a 2–0 win for his team.

The 2016–17 season is the 33rd season in the history of Aizawl Football Club and their second in the I-League, India's top flight professional football league. The season began on 1 August 2016 and will conclude in May 2017. The club ended the I-League campaign as the champions after they were reinstated into the league after they were relegated the previous season. The club will also participate in the Federation Cup while they also made it to the semi-finals of the Mizoram Premier League and the Durand Cup.

The 2017–18 Mizoram Premier League is the sixth season of the Mizoram Premier League, the top-division football league in the Indian state of Mizoram. The league began on 31 August 2017 with eight teams competing.

The 2017–18 season is East Bengal FC's 98th season in existence. The club has won the Calcutta Football League this season for the record consecutive 8th time. The Red and Gold Brigade finished 4th in the much-awaited 2017-18 I League campaign, coming ever so close once again. East Bengal reached the final of the inaugural Indian Super Cup being held at Bhubaneshwar but lost to Bengaluru FC by 4-1.

Aizawl Football Club held its thirty-fourth season from 1 June 2017 to 31 May 2018, entering the 2017–18 I-League season as the defending champions finishing fifth. They reached the final of the Mizoram Premier League, losing to Chhinga Veng FC. The club started in the 2018 AFC Champions League but lost to Zob Ahan in the playoff round. This meant that they qualified for the 2018 AFC Cup where they finished bottom of the group. In the Super Cup, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by East Bengal.
