The Lancer 44 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem, an angled transom with a swimming platform, a skeg-mounted rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 21,000 lb (9,525 kg) and carries 8,000 lb (3,629 kg) of lead ballast. [1] [3]
The boat has a draft of 6.00 ft (1.83 m) with the standard keel and 4.92 ft (1.50 m) with the optional shoal draft keel. The boat is fitted with an inboard engine for cruising, docking and maneuvering. [1] [3]
