"Latest Trends" is the debut single by UK Drill duo A1 x J1. It was originally previewed in late 2020 before being officially released on 4 February 2021. It later found viral popularity on TikTok [1] before reaching a peak of number two on the UK Singles Chart in March 2021 after being remixed with a version featuring Aitch [2] or a version with A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

Composition

The song has been described by GRM Daily as having "a feel-good vibe with its upbeat, guitar-based production" as well as "clever lyrics including pop culture references and Instagram caption worthy lines". [1] The duo also contribute "smooth vocals from A1 on the chorus and his verse" before "J1 comes through with clever wordplay and bars". [3]

The song went viral on video-sharing app TikTok and was then re-released on the Rax Collective and the Parlophone (Warner) label in March 2020. A1 x J1 are a British hip hop duo. They released their debut single "Latest Trends" in February 2021, which charted at number 2 in the UK and was remixed by Aitch and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Their second single "Baby" featured British singer and rapper Deno. They were also featured on the deluxe edition of KSI's album All Over the Place, and on the debut single by British rapper SwitchOTR, as well as recording a song for the Plugged In series by Fumez the Engineer.

The reissue adds appearances from Black Sherif and Kyla.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, he started creating TikTok videos for his songs, one of which, "Upside Down", went viral in 2021. His debut album, This Is What ____ Feels Like (2022), peaked at number 40 on the Billboard 200, while the song "Golden Hour" peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

David Alan Kushner II is an American singer-songwriter. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Los Angeles, California, and began releasing music. Kushner's song "Miserable Man" (2022) went viral on TikTok and peaked at number 11 on the charts in Norway and number 19 in Ireland, additionally reaching the top 40 in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Along with the single "Mr. Forgettable", it appeared on his debut extended play Footprints I Found (2022). Kushner received 556 million streams within a year of releasing music. His song "Daylight" was released on April 14, 2023. Kushner has served as the opening act for one of Lauv's tours. He headlined the Daylight 2.0 tour.
