Eurovision Song Contest 1994 International song competition

The Eurovision Song Contest 1994 was the 39th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Dublin, Ireland, following the country's victory at the 1993 contest with the song "In Your Eyes" by Niamh Kavanagh. It was the first time that any country had hosted the contest two years in a row. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ), the contest was held at the Point Theatre on 30 April 1994. It was presented by Irish television and radio presenters Cynthia Ní Mhurchú and Gerry Ryan. This remains the last time that the contest has been held in the month of April.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 International song competition for youth

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 was the third edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest for young singers aged 8 to 15. On 26 November 2005, the contest was broadcast live from the Ethias Arena in Hasselt, Belgium, in a joint effort by the national broadcasters Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT) and Radio télévision belge de la communauté française (RTBF), in co-operation with the European Broadcasting Union. Marcel Vanthilt and Maureen Louys hosted the event.

Let Me Try 2005 song performed by Luminița Anghel

"Let Me Try" is a song recorded by Romanian singer Luminița Anghel and Romanian percussion band Sistem, consisting of Toth Zoltan, Mihai Ciprian Rogojan, Claudiu Purcărin, Robert Magheti and Florin Cătălin Romașcu. It was released as a CD single in 2005 by the Romanian Television (TVR). Romanian composer Cristian Faur wrote and produced the single for Anghel, who subsequently recorded it in collaboration with Sistem. Musically, "Let Me Try" is an uptempo folk-influenced disco song.

Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest

Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 22 times since its debut in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving "nul points". Lithuania withdrew from the contest, not returning until 1999. LT United's sixth place in 2006 with the song "We Are the Winners" is Lithuania's best result in the contest. The country reached the top ten for a second time in 2016, when Donny Montell finished ninth with "I've Been Waiting For This Night", and for the third time in 2021, finishing eighth with The Roop and "Discoteque".

Lithuania was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by "Little by Little" performed by Laura and the Lovers. It was chosen at the Lithuanian National Final on 26 February. The song was written and composed by Swedes Bobby Ljunggren and William "Billy" Butt.

Laura Põldvere sometimes known professionally as simply Laura, is an Estonian singer. She is said to be the most played Estonian artist on Estonian radio in the past decade. She is internationally known for representing Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 as part of the girl group Suntribe and did so again in 2017 in a duet with Koit Toome, singing "Verona."

The United Kingdom participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Children of the Universe" written by Molly Smitten-Downes and Anders Hansson. The song was performed by Molly, who was internally selected by the British broadcaster BBC to represent the United Kingdom at the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. Molly and "Children of the Universe" was announced as the British entry in a special presentation show titled The UK Launch broadcast on the BBC Red Button service in March 2014.

Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Lithuanian entry was selected through "Eurovizijos" dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka, a twelve-week-long national final format, organised by the Lithuanian broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT). Lithuania was represented by the song "Attention", written by Vilija Matačiūnaitė and Viktoras Vaupšas and performed by Vilija. The song failed to qualify from the second semi-final, placing 11th with a score of 36 points.

Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "This Time", written by Vytautas Bikus and Monika Liubinaitė. The song was performed by Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila. Lithuanian broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) organised the national final "Eurovizijos" dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka in order to select the Lithuanian entry for the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. The national selection involved artists competing independently from their songs with separate selections running concurrently to choose the winning artist and song. "This Time" was selected as the winning song from a field of twelve competing songs. Three artists qualified to perform the winning song in the final round of the selection: Mia, Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila. While Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila entered the competition performing as solo acts, they joined forces as a duet for the final artist selection and were subsequently selected as the performers for "This Time".

Monika Linkytė is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter. She represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Vaidas Baumila with the song "This Time", placing 18th. She also represented Lithuania in the New Wave 2014 competition and was a finalist on season two of Lietuvos Balsas.

Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Verona" written by Sven Lõhmus. The song was performed by Koit Toome, who had previously represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 where he placed twelfth with the song "Mere lapsed", and Laura, who had previously represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 as part of the group Suntribe where she failed to qualify to the final with the song "Let's Get Loud". The Estonian broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) organised the national final Eesti Laul 2017 in order to select the Estonian entry for the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. The national final consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. Ten songs competed in each semi-final and the top five from each semi-final as determined by a jury panel and public vote qualified to the final. In the final, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, a jury panel and a public vote selected the top three to qualify to the super final. In the super final, "Verona" performed by Koit Toome and Laura was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote.

Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The Lithuanian broadcaster LRT televizija (LRT) organised the national final „Eurovizijos“ dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka 2018 in order to select the Lithuanian entry for the 2018 contest in Lisbon, Portugal.

Run with the Lions 2019 song by Jurij Veklenko

"Run with the Lions" is a song by Lithuanian singer Jurij Veklenko. It represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. A revamped version of the song was released on 3 April 2019. It was performed during the second semi-final on 16 May 2019, and missed qualifying for the final by 1 point.

The Roop Lithuanian pop band

The Roop are a Lithuanian pop rock band from Vilnius. Formed in 2014, the group consists of lead vocalist Vaidotas Valiukevičius, percussionist Robertas Baranauskas and guitarist Mantas Banišauskas. The group has released three albums—To Whom It May Concern in 2015, Ghosts in 2017 and Concrete Flower in 2022 –as well as the extended play Yes, I Do in 2018. They were due to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with their song "On Fire" before the contest was cancelled. They then took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with "Discoteque", finishing in eighth place in the final.
