Layton Hills Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Layton, Utah, United States. Opened in 1980, the mall features Dick's Sporting Goods, Dillard's, and JCPenney as its anchor stores. The mall is owned by CBL & Associates Properties.

History

The mall opened in 1980 with Mervyn's and three local department stores: Zions Cooperative Mercantile Institution (ZCMI) Castletons and Auerbach's. After only one year in business, the Auerbach's store closed and became The Bon Marché. [2] Castletons closed its store in 1987. [3] The space became Herman's World of Sporting Goods, then Gart Sports [4] and subsequently The Sports Authority. The upper level now houses the mall Food Gallery, with SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium on the lower level.

The Bon Marché closed its store in May 1993. [5] JCPenney moved to the former Bon Marché building in November 1993, [6] relocating from a standalone store in Bountiful. [7] ZCMI sold its stores in 2001 to Meier & Frank, [8] which was then sold to Macy's in 2006. Also in 2001, the mall expanded with 28 more stores. [9] CBL & Associates Properties purchased the mall in 2005. [10] Mervyns closed in 2008. In mid-2011, renovations began on the former Mervyns building to convert it to Dick's Sporting Goods on the lower level and mall shops on the upper level. [11] Meanwhile, The Sports Authority moved to a new store in Farmington. [12]

The Food Gallery on the upper level features nearly a dozen eateries, including national chains such as Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, Hot Dog on a Stick, and Subway. A children's play area, sponsored by Weber State University, is located on the lower level near the center court.

In 2017, Macy's announced they would be closing their store at Layton Hills Mall. [13] The store closed in March 2017. Shortly after that, renovations began for a new Dillard's to replace Macy's. The store opened in fall 2017. [14]

On June 4, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would be closing as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide. However, that store was removed from the closing list and will remain open for now. [15]

Parkdale Mall is a mall located in Beaumont, Texas that opened in 1973. The owner of Parkdale Mall is CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. The mall's anchor stores include a Dick's Sporting Goods and Field & Stream combo Store, Dillard's, Five Below, Forever 21, HomeGoods, JCPenney, and Stage. Another anchor, Macy's, closed in March 2017. The former Macy's became a combination between the Dick's Sporting Goods and Field & Stream combo store, HomeGoods, and Five Below. KBTV-TV, the Beaumont-Port Arthur Fox affiliate, used to broadcast inside the mall, but now broadcasts at the KFDM studios. In addition, a Tilt Studio location opened in early 2017. The Tacoma Mall is the largest shopping center in Tacoma, Washington, and is owned and operated by the Simon Property Group. Anchor tenants include Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Macy's, and Nordstrom, with one vacant anchor last occupied by Sears, which opened in 1981. The mall opened on October 13, 1965. Another former anchor was Liberty House, which opened in 1974, which was demolished for the current location of Nordstrom, which relocated from an anchor that was originally Nordstrom Best, with the Best name dropped in 1972, and expanded from 55,000 square feet to 134,000 square feet in 1983, in 2008. The former Nordstrom was divided into Sephora, Apple Store, and Forever 21 in 2010. Forever 21 relocated to a smaller location in 2016, and the former location became a Dick's Sporting Goods in 2017.

Deerbrook Mall is mall located in the northern Houston suburb of Humble. It is at the major intersection of I-69/US 59 and FM 1960, near George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Deerbrook Mall is classified as a super-regional mall and is the only mall in suburban Northeast Houston. The mall is in the middle of Humble's entertainment complex which includes restaurants, other shopping outlets, movie theaters, as well as communities, which creates heavy traffic and congestion during traffic rush hour and weekend rushes. Deerbrook is owned by Brookfield Properties of Chicago, Illinois. The anchor stores are Dick's Sporting Goods, AMC Theatres, JCPenney, Barnes & Noble, Dillard's, Forever 21, and Macy's. There are 2 vacant anchor store that were once Palais Royal and Sears.

South Hill Mall is an enclosed, super-regional shopping mall located in Puyallup, Washington, United States. Opened in 1988 and expanded in 1992, the mall comprises more than 100 stores, plus a food court and movie theater, in 1,074,230 square feet (99,799 m2) of gross leasable area. The mall also includes five anchor stores, as well as DSW, Old Navy, and Regal Cinemas. The mall is managed by Cafaro Company of Youngstown, Ohio.

Opened on August 4, 1988, it features JCPenney, Kohl's, Macy's, Macy's Home Store, Dick's Sporting Goods, DSW, H&M, Forever 21, Ashley Furniture, and Target. The mall is located along Interstate 5 at its interchange with State Route 539 north of downtown Bellingham.
