The Len Ceglarski Award is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season to the player most exemplifying the qualities of sportsmanship on the ice in the conference as voted by the head coaches of each Hockey East team. [2] The award was created and named in honor of long-time Boston College head coach Len Ceglarski who retired following the 1991–92 season. [3]

The Len Ceglarski Award was first bestowed in 1992 and every year thereafter.

Only Steve Kariya, Joe Gambardella, and Jacob Bryson have received the award more than once, Gambardella and Bryson winning in two consecutive years, and Kariya doing so in three consecutive years from 1996–97 to 1998–99.

York is the winningest active coach in NCAA hockey, and leads the all-time list as the only Division I head coach with over 1,000 wins (as of 2018). He has won the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey title five times as a coach, at Bowling Green State University in 1984 and at Boston College in 2001, 2008, 2010 and 2012, tying him with Murray Armstrong for second-most all-time behind only Vic Heyliger (6). York received the Spencer Penrose Trophy for being named Division I Coach of the Year in 1977. On June 25, 2019, York was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Builders Category.

Martin Tetsuya Kariya is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger. He is the youngest brother of former NHL players Paul Kariya and Steve Kariya.

Maine Black Bears mens ice hockey

The Maine Black Bears men's ice hockey is a (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Maine. The Black Bears are a member of Hockey East. They play at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena commonly known as Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine.

Leonard Stanley Ceglarski was an American ice hockey player and coach. He was an All-American left wing on Boston College's 1949 NCAA championship team, and was captain of the 1950–51 squad. He was also a member of the U.S. Olympic hockey team that won the silver medal at the 1952 Winter Olympic Games in Oslo, Norway. Ceglarski was also known as a baseball player. While at Boston College, his .429 batting average as a senior second baseman was best in New England.

Maine Black Bears womens ice hockey

The Maine Black Bears women’s ice hockey team represents the University of Maine. The team plays their home games in Alfond Arena. The team's first year of play was in 1997–98. The Black Bears finished 6th in the 2019-2020 season, advancing to the semi-finals of the Hockey East tournament, before losing to the eventual champions Northeastern Huskies by a score of 1-3. The 2020 Hockey East women's ice hockey tournament was cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, but Maine would not have qualified even if the tournament had been played. Hockey East announced plans in July 2020 to play the 2020-2021 hockey season, with an emphasis on league play.

The Boston College Eagles women's ice hockey team represent Boston College in the NCAA and participate in Hockey East. The Eagles are coached by former Olympic gold medallist Katie King-Crowley and play their home games at Conte Forum. They have won the Hockey East championship three times, and made seven trips to the Frozen Four of the NCAA tournament.

Clarkson Golden Knights mens ice hockey

The Clarkson Golden Knights men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Clarkson University. The Golden Knights have been a member of ECAC Hockey since 1962, and play their home games at Cheel Arena in Potsdam, New York. While Clarkson lore has it that their first hockey game was played in 1916 against the Hogansburg Indians, the team was established as a hockey club in 1921, led by captain Bill Johnson. The Knights won their opening encounter against Alexandria Bay, 6–4, and finished the year with a 2–1 record, their first of many winning seasons.

Johnny Gaudreau American ice hockey player

John Michael Gaudreau is an American professional ice hockey winger for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the NCAA Division I's Boston College Eagles from 2011 to 2014. Gaudreau was selected by the Flames in the fourth round, 104th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Joseph Gabriel Gambardella is an American professional ice hockey player for the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). He attended the University of Massachusetts–Lowell where he played college hockey and was a business major. Undrafted into the NHL, Gambardella signed an entry-level contract with the Edmonton Oilers in 2017.

Jacob Bryson is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played collegiately for Providence College.
