Leong Leong is an architecture studio and design consultancy in New York City. [1] Founded in 2009 by brothers Dominic Leong and Chris Leong, the studio is known for material experimentation [2] [3] [4] and integrating aesthetics with social practice. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

Founding partners Chris and Dominic Leong were born 17 months apart in St. Helena, California. [3]

After studies at the University of California, Berkeley and Princeton University School of Architecture (Chris) and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (Dominic), the brothers arrived in New York, where they founded Leong Leong in 2009. [1] [3] [32]

Both brothers are involved in non-profit organizations and academia.

Dominic Leong is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, [33] an Adjunct Associate Professor at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, [34] and was an invited lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. [35] He is also a co-founder of Hawaiʻi Nonlinear, a Honolulu-based non-profit organization "empowering Indigenous futures in the built environment through art and architecture." [36]

Chris Leong is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, [37] and he has taught at Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning [38] and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. [35] He is also on the board of Triple Canopy, a New York-based non-profit arts organization. [39]

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1937 by philanthropist Solomon R. Guggenheim and his long-time art advisor, artist Hilla von Rebay. The foundation is a leading institution for the collection, preservation, and research of modern and contemporary art and operates several museums around the world. The first museum established by the foundation was The Museum of Non-Objective Painting, in New York City. This became The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in 1952, and the foundation moved the collection into its first permanent museum building, in New York City, in 1959. The foundation next opened the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy, in 1980. Its international network of museums expanded in 1997 to include the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Bilbao, Spain, and it expects to open a new museum, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates after its construction is completed.

Sir David Frank Adjaye is a Ghanaian-British architect who has designed many notable buildings around the world, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.. Adjaye was knighted in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to architecture. He received the 2021 Royal Gold Medal, making him the first African recipient and one of the youngest recipients. He was appointed to the Order of Merit in 2022.

The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a planned art museum, to be located in Saadiyat Island cultural district in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Upon completion, it is planned to be the largest of the Guggenheim museums. Architect Frank Gehry designed the building. After announcing the museum project in 2006, work on the site began in 2011 but was soon suspended. A series of construction delays followed; the museum is expected to be completed in 2025.

Henning Larsen Architects is an international architectural firm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Founded in 1959 by Henning Larsen, it has around 750 employees.

Omer Arbel is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Vancouver. His output is broad, including materials research, lighting design, building design and site specific installations. He is one of two co-founders of Bocci, a Canadian design and manufacturing company. Arbel's designs are numbered in order of creation. Arbel invents processes that generate novel forms, privileging analog processes and traditional skills such as glassblowing, concrete forming, and metalwork as ongoing sources of inspiration and innovation. The objects, installations, and buildings realized in this way are to some degree unpredictable and variable, a meeting place between nature and technology, a potentially endless series of exceptions for which there is no restrictive rule.

Zaha Hadid Architects is a British architecture and design firm founded by Zaha Hadid (1950–2016), with its main office situated in Clerkenwell, London. After the death of "starchitect" Hadid, Patrik Schumacher became head of the firm, yet had to pay for use of the former business partners name at the time with a staff of 400, mostly free labour of interns sourced from teaching positions occupied by senior staff, with 36 projects across 21 countries.

UCCA Center for Contemporary Art or UCCA is a leading Chinese independent institution of contemporary art. Founded in 2007 and located at the heart of the 798 Art District in Beijing, China, it welcomes more than one million visitors a year. Originally known as the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, UCCA underwent a major restructuring in 2017 and now operates as the UCCA Group, comprising two distinct entities: UCCA Foundation, a registered non-profit that organizes exhibitions and research, stages public programs, and undertakes community outreach; and UCCA Enterprises, a family of art-driven retail and educational ventures. Louise Braverman is a New York City-based architect known for a design philosophy that aims to combine aesthetic design and social conscience. She is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA).

Tatiana Bilbao Spamer is a Mexican architect whose works often merged geometry with nature. Her practice focuses on sustainable design and social housing.

Winka Dubbeldam is a Dutch architectural designer and academic. After her education in architectural design at Columbia University, she established her own firm, Archi-Tectonics, in 1994 in New York City. Her use of a combination of sustainable materials, innovative and inventive building methods with adoption of digital techniques has rewarded her with many accolades for her architectural projects. She has earned a reputation as a leading figure in modern architectural designs which has also made her "a real estate newsmaker". She is a Professor and Chair of architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also the RIBA External Examiner for the Bartlett UCL London [2018-2022], the Creative Director for the Venice Biennale Virtual Italian Pavilion [2021]. Her Ted talk “Crowdfunding Urban Planning” was in TED Global in Edinburgh Scotland 2013.

Beatrice Galilee is a British curator and international writer on design and architecture. She is the co-founder and executive director of The World Around, and the author of Radical Architecture of the Future.

Ana Luisa Soares is a Portuguese architect and co-founder of Fala Atelier, an architectural firm based in Oporto. Her work has been featured globally, including at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, and in solo exhibitions for Fala Atelier in Panama, Italy, Macedonia, France, and Portugal. In addition to her firm's work, she has held several teaching positions in schools across Europe and North America.

Ema Peter is a Canadian architectural photographer. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, she is known for taking a photojournalist approach to capture the relationship between built forms, light and people who live and work within them. She has photographed buildings and interiors Internationally for architects such as Omar Gandhi, Bjarke Ingels Group, Kengo Kuma, Kohn Pedersen Fox, AECOM, Luis Vidal and many more.
