Lester Andrew del Rosario is a Filipino basketball coach currently coaching Pioneer ElastoSeal Katibays, and also serving as an assistant coach for UST Growling Tigers.

Playing career

UST

Lester del Rosario played for UST Growling Tigers under his father Aric del Rosario, and notably played with Udoy Belmonte, Patrick Fran, Rey Evangelista, Dennis Espino, and Siot Tanquingcen. [1]

In 1992, his first year, del Rosario saw his team losing to FEU Tamaraws due to interruption by a power outage, but due to UAAP Board's decision to reschedule the last 3 minutes of the game, UST ended up losing, 76–87. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

The team later won the 1993 championship by sweeping all of their opponents, and got a mythical second team. [8] [9] The run lasted until 1996, but in 1995, Lester became the team captain of UST. [10]

Professional

He professional scene for Pampanga Dragons in Metropolitan Basketball Association in 1998, when they won championship under his father's tutelage. [11]

Coaching

Father's assistant

Del Rosario served as an assistant to his father when it was appointed as head coach of the Philippine team for the 2003 SEA Games.

He later served as an assistant for Perpetual Altas, with future PBA star Scottie Thompson as one of its star players. [12]

He also served as an assistant for Parañaque Patriots. [13]

Head coaching

Del Rosario served as head coach for Pioneer ElastoSeal Katibays, A PBA 3x3 team, and won a championship in 2021 second conference. [1] [14] [15]

He is currently coaching the Philippine Cultural College HS since 2016. [16] [17]

Concurrently, he is an assistant coach for UST Growling Tigers.

Alfredo Lorenzo Mendoza Jarencio is a Filipino basketball coach and former professional basketball player. He is the head coach for the UST Growling Tigers of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He also acts as the team manager for the NorthPort Batang Pier of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

The UST Growling Tigers basketball is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Santo Tomas. The school has won 19 basketball titles including one in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). They are one of the winningest teams in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) with 18 championships, the last coming in 2006 during Pido Jarencio's rookie year of coaching. Jarencio returned as the team's head coach after ten years since resigning in 2013. He formally replaced Bal David on February 3, 2023.

Jeron Alvin Uy Teng is a Filipino professional basketball player for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). As a PBA player, he usually starts at the swingman position but occasionally plays as a power forward during the Philippine Cup. A renowned prodigy, he holds multiple high school records for the Xavier Golden Stallions. After his famous high school career, he played for the De La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP with equally great success. He won a couple UAAP championships as the team captain and has the rare distinction of simultaneously winning two UAAP finals MVP awards.

The 2014 UST Growling Tigers men's basketball team represented University of Santo Tomas in the 77th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2014-15 began on July 12, 2014 and the host school for the season was University of the East.

The 2015 UST Growling Tigers men's basketball team represented University of Santo Tomas in the 78th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2015-16 began on September 5, 2015 and the host school for the season was the University of the Philippines.
