The XVth Mediterranean Games Almería 2005, commonly known as the 2005 Mediterranean Games, were the 15th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Almería, Spain over 10 days, from 24 June to 3 July 2005, where 3,203 athletes from 21 countries participated. There were a total of 258 medal events from 27 different sports.
Jordan have competed at all-but-one Asian Games since their first participation in 1986, with the exception of the 1990 edition in Beijing. Including the 2018 edition, Jordan have won 45 medals, including five gold, 16 silver and 24 bronze medals. These have been won in six sports: Taekwondo (24), Karate (nine), Jujitsu (five), Boxing (five), Bodybuilding (one) and Wrestling (one).
The 12th African Games was held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. This was the first time that the African Games were hosted by Morocco following the country's readmission to the African Union in January 2017.
The 3rd African Youth Games took place in Algiers, Algeria from 18 to 28 July 2018. The Games featured approximately 3,300 athletes from 55 African countries who competed in 30 sports. Algiers was awarded the games by Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa in 2014.
Egypt competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. In total 297 athletes were expected to represent Egypt at the games. This later increased to 330 athletes. Athletes representing the country won 102 gold medals, 98 silver medals and 73 bronze medals and the country finished 1st in the medal table.
Madagascar competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. Athletes representing Madagascar won six gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals. The men's team won the gold medal in 3x3 basketball and all other medals were won in weightlifting.
Democratic Republic of the Congo took part in the 2019 African Games held from 19 August to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco, with a total of 164 athletes competing in 17 sports, and won 12 medals. The country finished in 27th place in the medal table.
