<span class="mw-page-title-main">Algeria at the 2018 Mediterranean Games</span> Sporting event delegation

Algeria competed at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain over 10 days from 22 June to 1 July 2018. In this session, Algeria participated with 233 athletes in 24 sports, the second largest participation after the Algeria Games in 1975. After a little late over an hour flight, the special plane that transported the Algerian delegation landed on the tarmac of the regional Airport of Reus, Catalonia. The first wave of the Algerian delegation, 144 people including 67 athletes, 7 referees, 8 COA members, 10 medical staff and journalists. The first medal in the games was in karate by Oualid Bouabaoub in bronze weight −75 kg kumite, is the only one on the first day, The first gold medal was awarded to Hocine Daïkhi in Karate, also weighing +84 kg kumite, then in the evening the swimmer Oussama Sahnoune achieved the second Golden Medal of the 100 m freestyle, the first of its kind in swimming since Almería 2005. On the third day, Sahnoune managed to add a second medal in his 50 m freestyle of silver, the first for Algeria of this type in this games. In Wrestling Greco-Roman, Algeria achieved two silver medals for Bachir Sid Azara in −87 kg and Adem Boudjemline in −97 kg after losing in the final against both Metehan Başar and Mélonin Noumonvi respectively.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Dionysios Xenos</span> Greek karateka (born 1995)

Dionysios Xenos is a Greek karateka. He won the gold medal in the men's 67 kg event at the 2021 European Karate Championships held in Poreč, Croatia. He also won the gold medal in his event at the 2022 Mediterranean Games held in Oran, Algeria.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Algeria at the 2022 Mediterranean Games</span> Sporting event delegation

Algeria is scheduled to compete at the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Oran, Algeria over 10 days from 25 June to 5 July 2022 with delegation of 522 persons, including 293 men and 182 women. The country finished the Games with 53 medals amongst all nations: 20 gold, 17 silver, and 16 bronze. This is the best participation in the history of Algeria, breaking the number of the 2001 Mediterranean Games. The sports with the most medals were Athletics, Karate and Boxing. The first medals Algeria earned were in Karate, where Algeria won six medals, including four golds by Cylia Ouikene, Louiza Abouriche and Chaima Midi for women's and Oussama Zaid for men's. In Boxing, Algeria participated with fifteen men's and women's boxers, 13 of whom won medals including five golds through Jugurtha Ait Bekka, Roumaysa Boualam, Hadjila Khelif, Imane Khelif and Yahia Abdelli. The third specialty in terms of medals is strong Athletics with a total of 13 medals, including five golds, by Bilal Tabti in 3000 m steeplechase, Yasser Triki in Triple jump, Bilel Afer in high jump, Djamel Sedjati in 800 m and finally the Men's 4×400 m relay team. In other sports participation was different and in Badminton duo Koceila Mammeri and Youcef Sabri Medel won a historic gold, and the only one in this specialty, by defeating the Spanish duo Luis Enrique Penalver Pereira and Pablo Abian Vicen. In fencing Algeria won its first gold medal in history with Saoussen Boudiaf winning against Italian Rebecca Gargano. In Judo, from which a lot was expected of Algeria, they earned four medals, one of which was gold by Messaoud Dris in 73 kg, defeating Moroccan Hassan Doukkali by Ippon. In wrestling, swimming and weightlifting, he won one gold medal in each discipline: Bachir Sid Azara in men's Greco-Roman as for Ishak Ghaiou and Abdelkrim Ouakali get the silver medal. Jaouad Syoud in 200 m individual medley and Walid Bidani in snatch +102 kg and was satisfied with silver in Clean & jerk.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Football at the 2022 Mediterranean Games</span> International football competition

Football at the 2022 Mediterranean Games took place between 26 June and 5 July 2022 at the Ahmed Zabana Stadium, Mers El Hadjadj Stadium and Abdelkrim Kerroum Stadium. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their men's U-18, U-19 and U-21 national teams. There was no women's tournament on this occasion.
