"Lie Down in Darkness" is a song by American electronica musician Moby. It was released as the third single from his tenth studio album Destroyed on August 1, 2011.
The song features vocals from Joy Malcolm, who later joined him on his 2011 Destroyed Tour in support for the album. [1]
On June 24, 2011, Moby announced that a new single would be released from Destroyed, and invited users to suggest a song to release as a single through the website. [2] On June 27, it was announced that the next single would be "Lie Down in Darkness". [3]
A sample of "Lie Down in Darkness" was used in the 2012 Hugo Boss advert for Nuit Pour Femme, featuring Gwyneth Paltrow. [4]
On August 15, the song's video was released exclusively via Wired . It was filmed by UK filmmakers Institute for Eyes, who also directed the documentary Isolation , among others. The video follows an astronaut looking back on his life of space travel, journeying through an architecturally heightened London. [5]
Luke Seomore and Joseph Bull, aka Institute for Eyes, said about the idea for the video: “The song has a graceful, very cinematic quality, so the idea of weightlessness quickly began to form. An intense otherworldly journey seemed to mirror the atmosphere of the song. Somesuch and Co helped us to put together a great team to make the video happen; we hope you enjoy it.” [6] Moby said about the video: "It was great working with video directors Institute for Eyes, and I'm really happy with the final result. Holly Brook Hafermann, known professionally as Skylar Grey, is an American singer and songwriter from Mazomanie, Wisconsin. In 2004, at the age of 17, Grey signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group and a recording contract with Machine Shop Recordings under the name Holly Brook. In 2006, she released her debut studio album, Like Blood Like Honey, under the aforementioned labels.

The discography of Snow Patrol, an alternative rock band from Northern Ireland and based in Dundee, Scotland, consists of seven studio albums, thirty-one singles, eight extended plays, three compilation albums and one live DVD. Snow Patrol was formed in 1994 by Gary Lightbody, Michael Morrison and Mark McClelland under the name Shrug. They released an extended play (EP) titled The Yogurt vs. Yogurt Debate. Morrison left in 1995, and the band changed their name to Polarbear. Under this name they released their other EP, Starfighter Pilot, on the Electric Honey label. Drummer Jonny Quinn joined in 1997 and the band signed to Jeepster Records the same year. They then underwent their final name change to Snow Patrol. The band's first two studio albums: Songs for Polarbears and When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up were released in 1998 and 2001 respectively, but failed to do well commercially. Subsequently, the band was dropped by the label.
A Skylit Drive is an American post-hardcore band from Lodi, California. The band has released one DVD, one EP and five studio albums: Wires...and the Concept of Breathing (2008), Adelphia (2009), Identity on Fire (2011), Rise (2013) and, most recently, ASD (2015). The band has toured internationally both as headliner and supporting act. In 2017, the band broke up after a dispute between Nick Miller and Michael Jagmin.
