The discography of American R&B singer-songwriter and rapper Lil' Mo consists of five studio albums, two mixtapes and fourteen singles (sixteen as featured performer).

Contents

Based on a True Story is Mo's debut album, released on June 26, 2001. It peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart and attained a gold certification from the RIAA. It featured a total of four charting singles: "5 Minutes", "Ta Da", "Superwoman Pt. II", and "Gangsta (Love 4 the Streets)".

In 2002, Lil' Mo received her first ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Award, BMI Urban Music Award and BMI Pop Music Award for her contribution to Ja Rule's hit single "Put It on Me". [1] [2] [3]

On April 29, 2003, Mo released her second album, Meet the Girl Next Door , which was led by the hit single, "4Ever". In 2003, Lil' Mo received two ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards for "Award-Winning R&B/Hip-Hop Songs" and "Award-Winning Rap Songs" for her contribution to Fabolous' single, "Can't Let You Go". [4] The following year, Mo received the ASCAP Pop Music Award for her work on "Can't Let You Go". [5] In 2007 and 2011, Lil' Mo released her follow-up studio efforts, Pain & Paper and P.S. I Love Me respectively.

Cynthia Karen Loving, known professionally as Lil' Mo, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and radio personality. She is best known for her 2001 single "Superwoman Pt. II", featuring then-unknown rapper Fabolous, which has been credited as launching his career. She first gained recognition as Missy Elliott's protégé, of whom featured on Lil Mo's 1998 debut single "5 Minutes" for the Why Do Fools Fall in Love film soundtrack. The following year, Lil' Mo featured alongside Nas, Eve, and Q-Tip on Missy Elliott's 1999 single "Hot Boyz". John David Jackson, better known by his stage name Fabolous, is an American rapper. Raised in Brooklyn, he first gained recognition while still in high school, when he performed live on DJ Clue's radio show on Hot 97. Jackson subsequently signed to Clue's Desert Storm record label, later entering in a joint venture with Elektra Records. Jackson gained mainstream prominence with his debut studio album Ghetto Fabolous (2001), which spawned his first hit singles "Can't Deny It" and "Young'n ." His second album, Street Dreams (2003) was supported by the further-commercially oriented singles, "Can't Let You Go" and "Into You" ; both of which peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meet the Girl Next Door is the second studio album by American rapper and singer Lil' Mo. It was released on April 29, 2003 by Elektra Records. Written and recorded during her eighth-month pregnancy break in which she became a part-time anchor for Baltimore urban radio station WXYV-FM's The Lil' Mo Show, Lil' Mo worked with a variety of producers on the album, including Missy Elliott, Walter "Lil' Walt" Millsap III, Chucky Thompson, Bryan-Michael Cox, Craig Love, Warryn Campbell, Dwayne Bastiany, and Precision. Guest vocalists on Meet the Girl Next Door include rappers Fabolous, Free, and Lil' Kim.

"Put It On Me" is the second single from Ja Rule's second studio album, Rule 3:36. It was released through Def Jam and Murder Inc. The song also appeared on The Fast and the Furious soundtrack and was included in the special edition of Ja Rule's 2001 album Pain Is Love. The song features female Murder Inc. rapper Vita, with Vita's verse being written by Caddillac Tah. The song's original version appeared on Rule 3:36 and just featured Ja Rule and Vita, but then a remix version was made with vocals by Lil' Mo on the chorus of the song. Ja Rule explained that the lyrics of the song were inspired by an argument he had with his wife to show how important she is to him.
