Liliane Gaschet (born 16 March 1962 in Fort-de-France, Martinique) is a French athlete who specialises in the 100 and 200 meters. Gaschet competed in the women's 100 and 200 meters and also the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1984 Summer Olympics. [1]

Gwendolyn Lenna Torrence is a retired American sprinter and Olympic champion. She was born in Decatur, Georgia. She attended Columbia High School and the University of Georgia. She was offered a scholarship because of her athletic abilities, but she said she wasn't interested because she initially wanted to become a beautician. From the persuasion from her coaches and family, she chose to enroll to the University of Georgia.
Mary Terstegge Meagher Plant is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic champion, and world record-holder. In 1981 she bettered her own existing world records in the 100-meter butterfly (57.93) and 200-meter butterfly (2:05.96). These times would stand as the respective world records for 18 and 19 years, and are considered to be among the greatest sports performances ever.

Gabrielle Elaine Franco Rose is a Brazilian-American former competition swimmer who participated in the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. Rose, a resident of Memphis, Tennessee, competed for Brazil at the 1995 Pan American Games and 1996 Summer Olympics, but later represented the United States starting at the 1999 Pan American Games. Rose attended St. Mary's Episcopal School in Memphis, and graduated in 1995. She then attended Stanford University, where she swam for the Stanford Cardinal swimming and diving team. She graduated from Stanford in March 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies, and in 2009 with a master of business administration degree. She is the daughter of former Holiday Inn and Harrah's Entertainment CEO, Mike Rose (1942-2017), and his wife Regina Rose. Her father subsequently married Debbi Fields, founder of food company Mrs. Fields.
The 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1983 World Championships in Athletics was held in the Helsinki Olympic Stadium on August 10. Although this event was won by the East German team, it is generally accepted that those athletes were part of a programme of performance-enhancing drug usage. There are strong calls for the Great Britain team to be awarded the gold medal since they can be considered to have been the real winners, as is often the case involving those who lost out to East German drug cheats in the 1980s.
