Lin Yuwei (born 2 May 1999) is a Chinese track and field athlete who competes in the 100 metres hurdles. In 2023, she won the gold medal for the 100m hurdles event at the 2022 Asian Games, in Hangzhou. [1]
Born in Youxi County, Lin was first selected for the prestigious Fujian Provincial Team in November 2014. She won the 100m and 200m at the Fujian Provincial Games in 2014. She would go on to finish runner-up in the 100 metres hurdles at the 2018 National Youth Championship. She then won the 100m hurdles title at the National University Games in 2019. She won gold at the National Games in 2021, running a personal best time of 12.85 seconds for the 100m hurdles. She won gold in the 60m hurdles championship at the 2023 National Indoor Track and Field Championships. She then had a second place finish in the 100m hurdles at the National Track and Field Championship in 2023, clocking a time of 12.97 seconds [ citation needed ]
Lin won gold at the delayed 2022 Asian Games in October 2023, running a time of 12.74 seconds for the 100 metres hurdles. [2] [3] [4] [5]
She finished second to Wu Yanni in the 110m hurdles at the Chinese Athletics Championships in June 2024. [6] She was named in the Chinese team for the 2024 Paris Olympics. [7]
She attends East China Normal University in Shanghai. [8] Her younger sister Lin Yuxi has also competed in athletics at national level. [9]
Brigita Bukovec is a retired Slovenian hurdler who won an Olympic silver medal in 1996. During the Olympics she set a personal best time with 12.59 seconds.
Derval O'Rourke is an Irish former sprint hurdles athlete. She competed internationally in the 60 and 100 metres hurdles, and is the Irish national record holder in the former. She participated in two Indoor World Championships, five Outdoor World Championships and the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics.

Dedeh Erawati is an Indonesian sprint hurdler. She is a four-time medalist and two-time defending champion at the SEA Games. She won the bronze medal at the 2009 Asian Athletics Championships in Guangzhou, China, with a time of 13.32 seconds, finishing behind Japan's Asuka Terada and China's Sun Yawei, who claimed the gold in the hurdles. She also set both her personal best and national record of 13.18 seconds at the 2012 Taiwan Open in Taipei, Taiwan.
Dutee Chand is an Indian professional sprinter and current national champion in the women's 100 metres event. Chand is the first Indian to win a gold medal in 100 m race in a global competition, and in 2016 took part in the Rio Olympic Games. Oluwatobiloba Ayomide "Tobi" Amusan is a Nigerian track and field athlete who specialises in the 100 metres hurdles and also competes as a sprinter. Amusan is the current world record holder in the 100 metres hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds which she set at the 2022 women's 100 metres hurdles semi final in Eugene Oregon. She is the current Commonwealth and African champion in the 100 m hurdles, as well as the meet record holder in those two competitions. Amusan became the first ever Nigerian world champion and world record holder in an athletics event when she won the 2022 World Championships 100 m hurdles gold medal, setting the current world record of 12.12 seconds (+0.9 m/s) in the semi-final, followed up by a 12.06 seconds (+2.5 m/s) in the final. She won back-to-back Commonwealth and African titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100 m hurdles and is also a two-time African Games champion in the event. She is also the current Diamond league champion in the 100 metres hurdles having won the final in 12.33 seconds (+1.8 m/s) achieving a winning streak in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Emi Akimoto is a Japanese former track and field athlete who specialised in the 100 metres hurdles. She was the gold medallist in the event at the Asian Athletics Championships three times consecutively from 1979 to 1983, breaking the championship record each time. She won two gold medals at the Asian Games in 1982, running in the hurdles and 4×100 metres relay.
