Linden David Gaydosh (born January 4, 1991) is a Canadian football defensive tackle who is currently a free agent. He most recently played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played CIS football with the Calgary Dinos. [1] Gaydosh was drafted first overall by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but instead chose to sign with the Carolina Panthers. [2]

Professional career

Gaydosh was ranked as the 2nd best player in the Canadian Football League's Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings for players eligible in the 2013 CFL Draft. [3] He ranked 3rd best in both the December and April (final) rankings. [4] [5] Gaydosh had arguably the best performance of the 2013 CFL Combine. Duane Forde said that, "If rankings were based solely on the combine Linden Gaydosh would be the number one guy.". [6]

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

He was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, with the 1st pick of the 1st round (1st overall) in the 2013 CFL Draft. [7]

Carolina Panthers

On May 12, 2013, less than a week after being drafted into the CFL, Gaydosh signed with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. On August 2, 2013, Gaydosh was waived/injured by the Carolina Panthers due to a back injury. [8] On August 3, 2013, Gaydosh cleared waivers and was placed on the injured reserve list. He spent the entire 2013 NFL season on the injured reserve. He was released by the Panthers on August 24, 2014; prior to the 2014 NFL season. [9]

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (II)

On September 4, 2014, Gaydosh signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (who held his CFL rights). [10] He appeared in nine regular-season games, registering four tackles, two tackles for a loss and a pass knockdown. He added four tackles in two playoff contests. During an off-season workout in the spring of 2015, Gaydosh tore his Achilles tendon, which required surgery and caused him to miss the 2015 season. [11] He returned to Hamilton in 2016, making appearances in both pre-season games and the season opener against Toronto.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

On October 12, 2016, Gaydosh was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, however he was released by the club on August 2, 2017. [12]

Toronto Argonauts

On August 6, 2017, Gaydosh signed with the Toronto Argonauts. [13] Gaydosh played in 11 games for the Argos during the 2017 season, recorded the first three sacks of his career, and went on to win the 105th Grey Cup. Gaydosh played in 14 games for the Argos in 2018, made 5 tackles and his first career special teams tackle, and was signed to a contract extension following the season. [14] In 2019, Gaydosh continued his role as a depth player and situational pass rusher, but made a few splash plays with six tackles, a sack, and his first career interception. However, he was released on February 7, 2020. [15]

As a player, he played professional Canadian football as a safety for 13 seasons with the Ottawa Rough Riders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts from 1996 to 2008. He finished his career second all-time in CFL history for interception return yards with 1178 yards. Steinauer was a two-time Grey Cup champion as a player after winning in 1999 with the Tiger-Cats and in 2004 with the Argonauts. He has also won a championship as a coach, winning the 100th Grey Cup as the defensive backs coach for the Toronto Argonauts in 2012.

Brian Bulcke is a retired professional Canadian football defensive lineman. He was most recently a member of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. The 2013 CFL Draft took place on Monday, May 6, 2013, at 12:00 PM ET on TSN. 60 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The Montreal Alouettes had the most selections with nine, followed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with eight. Each of the West Division teams had seven picks while Winnipeg had six. The defending Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts had five picks and Ottawa chose four players from NCAA schools that would play another year. A total of 16 trades were made involving draft picks from this year, including two made on draft day itself, with 12 being made by the Edmonton Eskimos. Of the 60 draft selections, 44 players were drafted from Canadian Interuniversity Sport institutions, which is the highest number of CIS players taken since the 1987 CFL Draft when 50 of 72 were taken. It is also the highest percentage (73.3%) of CIS players taken since 2009.

Justin Capicciotti is a former Canadian football defensive lineman. He was most recently a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Simon Fraser Clan and was ranked as the 13th best player in the Canadian Football League’s Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings for players eligible in the 2012 CFL Draft. He was selected 14th overall in the 2012 Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos.

The 2017 CFL Draft took place on Sunday May 7, 2017 at 7:00 PM ET on TSN and RDS. 71 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian universities, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA.
