Linn Gottfridsson (born 1974) is a Swedish writer of screenplays and children's literature. She studied at the Dramatiska Institutet, and was awarded the Ingmar Bergman Award in 2001 alongside her classmates. She wrote the scripts for the films Glowing Stars (2009), Comedy Queen (2022), and An Honest Life (2025). With Anders Weidemann and Antonia Pyk  [ sv ], she adapted Fredrik Backman's novel of the same name into the HBO series Beartown (2020). In addition to her screenwriting credits, she also authored a trio of children's books illustrated by Emma Adbåge.

Early life and education

She was born and raised in Visby, Gotland, Sweden. [1] She studied script writing at the Dramatiska Institutet. She and her classmates were recognized with the Ingmar Bergman Award in 2001. [2]

Career

She wrote the screenplay for the 2009 film Glowing Stars. [3]

She authored the children's book En Myras liv, which was published in 2016 with illustrations by Emma Adbåge. It received praise from Pia Huss in Dagens Nyheter . [4] The book began a series, followed up by Myran och gåtorna (2017) and Hemliga Myran (2019). [5] [6]

Alongside Anders Weidemann and Antonia Pyk  [ sv ], she adapted Fredrik Backman's novel of the same name into the HBO series Beartown (2020). [7] She also wrote screenplays for Comedy Queen (2022) and the Netflix thriller An Honest Life (2025). [8] [9]
