LinuxDoc is an SGML DTD which is similar to DocBook. Matt Welsh created it, and version 1.1 was announced [1] in 1994. It is primarily used by the Linux Documentation Project. The DocBook SGML tags are often longer than the equivalent LinuxDoc tags. [2]
LinuxDoc has a more succinct DTD than DocBook. Users of small to medium-size projects have found that it suits their purposes better than DocBook. [3]

In computing, AAP DTD is a set of three SGML Document Type Definitions for scientific documents, defined by the Association of American Publishers. An HTML element is a type of HTML document component, one of several types of HTML nodes. The first used version of HTML was written by Tim Berners-Lee in 1993 and there have since been many versions of HTML. The most commonly used version is HTML 4.01, which became official standard in December 1999. In web development, "tag soup" is a pejorative for syntactically or structurally incorrect HTML written for a web page. A lightweight markup language (LML), also termed a simple or humane markup language, is a markup language with simple, unobtrusive syntax. Entities are foundational to the organizational structure and definition of SGML documents. A Formal Public Identifier (FPI) is a short piece of text with a particular structure that may be used to uniquely identify a product, specification or document. A structured document is an electronic document where some method of markup is used to identify the whole and parts of the document as having various meanings beyond their formatting.
