The Bangalore Football Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was a venue in three editions of the I-League, top-tier football league in the country, and home of Bengaluru FC for one season, when they won I-League trophy in first attempt.

The club ended their I-League campaign as champions for the second time, only winning by two points ahead of second placed Mohun Bagan. In the Federation Cup, Bengaluru were eliminated early in the first round, suffering defeat to Aizawl. In the AFC Cup, Bengaluru managed to make it past the Round of 16, defeating Kitchee. The victory had qualified the club for the quarter-finals which would take place the next season.
The 2016–17 season was the fourth in the history of Bengaluru Football Club. It began on 1 July 2016 and concluded on 30 June 2017, with competitive matches occurring between September and May. The season was a historic one for the club as they became the first Indian club to reach the final of the AFC Cup – suffering defeat against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. The club also won their second Federation Cup, while in the league, Bengaluru ended their final I-League campaign in fourth place.

Founded in 2015, the club competes in Bangalore Super Division, the top division of football in the state. Bengaluru FC Reserves and Academy, also known as Bengaluru FC B, is Bengaluru FC's most senior youth team and also acts a reserve team and participates in Bangalore Super Division and Reliance Foundation Development League. Bengaluru FC Academy is the youth setup of Bengaluru FC. The youth team participates in Youth Elite League, Junior League and Sub Junior League tournaments.

The 2018 Indian Super Cup Final was a football match between East Bengal and Bengaluru, played on 20 April 2018, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The match was a culmination of the 2018 Indian Super Cup, a knockout football tournament in India run by the All India Football Federation. This was the first edition of the Super Cup, the successor to the Federation Cup. Bengaluru won the tournament after defeating East Bengal 4–1. A brace from captain Sunil Chhetri and goals each from Rahul Bheke and Miku were enough for Bengaluru to get past East Bengal who scored once through Ansumana Kromah.
