The 2014 Durand Cup was the 127th season of the Durand Cup, the third oldest enduring football tournament in the world, a knockout tournament contested in Goa, India, from 20 October to 8 November. [2]
Mohammedan unsuccessfully defended its 2013 final title, [3] losing in the quarterfinal of Group C to Bengaluru and SESA.
Salgaocar successfully pursued its 3rd successive 2014 title [4] when it defeated Pune, 1–0 in the final. [1]
This edition of the Durand Cup saw 25 teams taking part in the tournament, 9 of which were directly seeded into Quarter Finals and remaining teams fighting it out in the Qualification Round for the 3 spots remaining.

Salgaocar Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Vasco, Goa. Being one of the country's most successful clubs, it is currently operating youth teams. Until the disfunction of its senior team in June 2023, Salgaocar competed in the Goa Professional League.
Remus Gomes is an Indian football coach and former professional footballer. He is currently the head coach of the U-21 and U19 squad of Dempo SC Academy, and the assistant coach of the India national under-20 football team. He has had a long and successful playing career of over eighteen years, in which he has represented some of the most prestigious Indian clubs including Vasco Sports Club, Dempo Sports Club, Salgaocar Football Club and Sporting Clube De Goa. His most successful period was at Salgaocar Football Club, where he went on to win the Goa Professional League title three times, the Durand Cup once, and one Police Cup. He played a pivotal role during his six-year stint with the club.
