The 2014 IFA Shield was the 118th edition of the IFA Shield. The tournament was held from 29 January to 11 February 2014 in Kolkata. [1] [2] That year, the Indian Football Association announced that three foreign clubs to participate in the tournament, S.League club Geylang International FC, South Korean Sun Moon University and Bangladesh Premier League club Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. [3]

However on 22 January 2014 it was announced that Shillong Lajong would not participate in this tournament and instead current I-League 2nd Division club United Sikkim would take their place. [4]

The 2015–16 I-League U18 is the eighth season of the Indian I-League U18 competition. The U-18 I-League is the premier age-group football tournament of the country which has been re-structured keeping AFC U-19 Championship in mind. The season began on 8 October 2015. and on 10 February 2016, AIFF Elite Academy won the title by defeating Tata Football Academy 2–0 in the final. The 2016 IFA Shield was the 120th edition of the IFA Shield. The tournament is designed as a U19 youth football tournament since 2015.

The 2016–17 season was the East Bengal FC's 97th season in existence. The club had already won the Calcutta Football League and became the runners of 2016 Bordoloi Trophy.

The 2020 IFA Shield is the 123rd edition of the IFA Shield. It will have four I-League teams and eight Calcutta Premier Division teams. No overseas teams were invited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Real Kashmir beat George Telegraph in the final to win their first IFA Shield title.

The 2012 IFA Shield Final was the 116th final of the IFA Shield, the second oldest football competition in India, and was contested between Kolkata clubs East Bengal and Prayag United on 16 March 2012.
