The 2014 Afghan Premier League is the third season of Afghan Premier League, the Afghan league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2012. The season started on 28 August 2014 with the group stage. [1] Shaheen Asmayee enters the season as the defending champions, having defeated Simorgh Alborz 3–1 in the 2013 final. It was Shaheen's first title and championship, with Simorgh's second runner up title, after two seasons in a row making it to the final of the country's league football.

A total of eight teams competed in the league, divided into two groups of four in the 18-game league. There is no promotion or relegation system for the league.

The Afghan Premier League, also known as Rahmani Foundation Afghan Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was a professional men's football league run by the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF). It was the country's primary competition for the sport. The competition commenced in September 2012. The league was contested by eight teams. The 2013 Afghan Premier League was the second season of Afghan Premier League, the Afghan league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2012. The season began on 22 August 2013 with the group stage and ended with the final on 11 October 2013. Toofaan Harirod head into the season as the defending champions. The 2015 Afghan Premier League was the fourth season of Afghan Premier League, the Afghan league for association football clubs, launched in 2012. Shaheen Asmayee F.C. were the defending champions of the Premier League. The season started on 27 August 2015 with the 8 teams again in two groups. Shaheen Asmayee again reached the final of the Afghan Premier League and faced off against De Spin Ghar Bazan F.C. It was the first time De Spin Ghar reached the final of the league, winning it on penalties (4-3). Eight yellow cards were handed out in the final.

De Spin Ghar Bazan F.C. were the defending champions of the Premier League. The season started on 25 August 2016 with the 8 teams again in two groups. Shaheen Asmayee F.C. won the final of the Afghan Premier League against De Maiwand Atalan F.C. and qualified for the 2017 AFC Cup, the first time an Afghan team was to compete in the AFC Cup.

The 2017 Afghan Premier League was the sixth season of Afghan Premier League, the Afghan league for association football clubs established in 2012. Shaheen Asmayee were the champions of the season.

The 2018 Afghan Premier League is the seventh season of Afghan Premier League, the Afghan league for association football clubs established in 2012. The season was initially postponed due to lack of funding, but was revived after new sponsors were secured.

The 2019 Afghan Premier League was the eighth season of Afghan Premier League, the Afghan league for association football clubs, which was launched in 2012. The season commenced on 20 August 2019. Toofan Harirod F.C successfully defended their title by defeating Shaheen Asmayee F.C in the final, 1-0 a.e.t.

The 2020 Afghan Premier League was the ninth season of Afghan Premier League, the Afghan league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2012. The season commenced on 24 September 2020. Shaheen Asmayee won their fifth title, defeating Simorgh Alborz in the final, 1–0.

The 2022 Afghanistan Champions League was the second season of Afghanistan Champions League, the Afghan league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2021. The season began on 6 November 2022 and ended on 9 December 2022. Attack Energy head into the season as the champions. Azadi Club and Atalan Club were relegated into the end of the season.
