South Korean girl group Blackpink has embarked on two headlining concert tours. In July 2017, the group held their debut showcase in Japan. [1] This was followed by their first Japanese concert tour, Blackpink Arena Tour, where they visited Osaka, Fukuoka and Chiba. In 2018, Blackpink embarked on their first world tour, In Your Area World Tour, in support of their albums Square Up and Kill This Love , which marked the first time that the group toured Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia.

Background

The 2018 tour of Japan was to promote their first Japanese extended play. Six shows were initially released with an extra being added in Chiba due to overwhelming demand, [2] the tour officially began on July 24 in Osaka. [3] On July 7, the final stop of the tour was added for December 24 at Kyocera Dome Osaka. [4] They embarked on their first concert tour of Japan titled "Black Pink Arena Tour 2018" in Osaka on July 24–25.

Background

Blackpink held their debut Japanese showcase at Nippon Budokan in front of 14,000 fans. The set list consisted of the group's previous releases being performed in Japanese, as well as an encore of the Korean version of "Boombayah". The showcase was later broadcast on Japanese TV channel M-on! HD, and the videos were included in the repackaged version of the group's debut EP Re: Blackpink (2018).

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a baseball stadium located in Osaka, Osaka, Japan. Opened in 1997, the stadium was the home field of the Kintetsu Buffaloes. It was released through YG Entertainment on August 8, 2016 simultaneously with "Boombayah"; both tracks are on the group's debut single album titled Square One (2016). "Whistle" was written and produced by YG Entertainment collaborators Teddy Park, Bekuh Boom, and Future Bounce, with additional lyrics penned by labelmate B.I of iKon. Shinee World 2014 is the third Japan nationwide concert tour by South Korean boy band Shinee, to promote their third Japanese studio album I'm Your Boy. The tour kicked off in Chiba on September 28, 2014, and ended on December 19 in Hyogo, with a total of 30 concerts in 20 cities. On March 14 and 15, 2015, Shinee performed at the Tokyo Dome for the finale performance, which was also their very first time performing at the venue. Throughout the entire tour, it was attended by a total of 200,000 fans proving their immense popularity in Japan. Shinee World 2014 is also the largest number of concerts tours held by Shinee.

The Wings Tour, also known as 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III : The Wings Tour, was the second worldwide concert tour headlined by the South Korean boy band BTS to promote their second Korean studio album, Wings (2016). The tour began on February 18, 2017 and concluded on December 10, 2017 in South Korea. It visited 12 countries including Brazil, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States. The tour gathered 550,000 fans, making it the band's second biggest tour to date.

Jennie (singer) South Korean rapper and singer

Jennie Kim, known mononymously as Jennie, is a South Korean singer and rapper. Born and raised in South Korea, Kim studied in New Zealand at the age of eight for five years, before returning to South Korea in 2010. She debuted as a member of the girl group Blackpink under YG Entertainment in August 2016. In November 2018, Jennie made her debut as a solo artist with the single "Solo". The song was a commercial success domestically and internationally, topping both the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard's World Digital Songs chart.

Rosé (singer) Korean-New Zealand singer and dancer based in South Korea

Roseanne Park, better known by the mononym Rosé (Korean: 로제), is a Korean-New Zealand singer and dancer based in South Korea. Born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Rosé signed with South Korean label YG Entertainment following an audition in 2012, training there for four years. She made her debut as the main vocalist and lead dancer of the girl group Blackpink in August 2016 and made her solo debut with her single album R in March 2021.

The Show, officially titled YG Palm Stage ― 2021 Blackpink: The Show, was the first online concert, second one-day and the fourth overall by South Korean girl group Blackpink.
