Blackpink is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment, consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. The group debuted in August 2016 with their single album Square One, which featured "Whistle" and "Boombayah", their first number-one entries on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart and the US Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, respectively.

"Whistle" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released through YG Entertainment on August 8, 2016, simultaneously with "Boombayah"; both tracks are on the group's debut single album titled Square One (2016). An acoustic version of the song was also included in the group's second single album Square Two (2016). "Whistle" was written and produced by YG Entertainment collaborators Teddy Park, Bekuh Boom, and Future Bounce, with additional lyrics penned by labelmate B.I of iKon. Musically, the song consists of a minimal drum and bass beat over a "booming", "exotic" hip-hop melody and integrates a variety of instrumentations, including heartbeats and whistles—directly alluding to the title of the track.

"Very Very Very" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group project I.O.I for their second mini-album Miss Me? (2016). It was released as the title track from the mini-album by YMC Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment on October 17, 2016. The lyrics were written by Park Jin-young, who also composed the music. In order to promote the song and mini-album, the group performed on several South Korean music programs, including M Countdown and Music Bank. A music video for the title track was also released on October 17.

"Playing with Fire" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released on November 1, 2016, together with "Stay", as the group's second digital single album titled Square Two, through YG Entertainment. The song was written by Teddy Park and composed by Park and R. Tee.

"As If It's Your Last" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released as a standalone single via YG Entertainment on June 22, 2017, and was made available to digital outlets. The song was written by Teddy Park, Brother Su and Choice37, whilst production was handled by Future Bounce, Teddy Park and Lydia Paek. Musically, "As If It's Your Last" is a synth-pop, house, reggae and moombahton song with its lyrics revolving around finding and losing love.

Jennie Kim, known mononymously as Jennie, is a South Korean singer and rapper. Born and raised in South Korea, Jennie studied in New Zealand for five years before returning to South Korea in 2010. She debuted as a member of the girl group Blackpink, formed by YG Entertainment, in August 2016. In November 2018, Jennie made her debut as a solo artist with the single "Solo". The song was commercially successful, topping both the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard's World Digital Songs chart. In 2023, she will be making her acting debut in the HBO series The Idol, under the stage name Jennie Ruby Jane.

"Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" is a song recorded in Korean and Japanese by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released on June 15, 2018, through YG Entertainment, in conjunction with the release of the group's first Korean-language extended play, Square Up. The Japanese version of the single was released through YGEX on August 22, 2018, and was distributed in three physical formats. Described as a pop rap song infused with trap beats and bubblegum pop sounds, the track was written by YG collaborator Teddy Park, whilst production and composition were handled by Park, 24, Bekuh Boom and R.Tee.

Born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Rosé signed with South Korean label YG Entertainment following a successful audition in 2012 and trained for four years before debuting as a member of the girl group Blackpink in August 2016.

<i>Kill This Love</i> 2019 EP by Blackpink

Kill This Love is the second Korean-language extended play by South Korean girl group Blackpink, released on April 5, 2019, by YG Entertainment and distributed through YG Plus and Interscope Records. It is their first Korean material since the release of Square Up in June 2018, and their debut release with Interscope Records. The title track was released as the lead single. The single peaked at number two in South Korea and became the group's first top-50 hit in the United States and the United Kingdom. The song "Don't Know What To Do" was later promoted in Korean music programs as the EP's sub-title track.

"Kill This Love" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released on April 4, 2019, through YG and Interscope, as the lead single for the group's second Korean-language EP of the same name. It was written by Teddy Park and Bekuh Boom and produced by them alongside R.Tee and 24. The single has been described as an electropop song, whose lyrics talk about the girls' decision to end a toxic relationship. A Japanese version of the song was released on October 16, 2019.

"Forever Young" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Blackpink, serving as the second track in the group's first mini-album Square Up. It was written and produced by Teddy and Future Bounce. A Japanese version of the song was included in the group's first Japanese compilation album, Blackpink in Your Area (2018).

R is the debut single recorded by Korean-New Zealand singer and Blackpink member Rosé. It was released on 12 March 2021 through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records. The single album was released for pre-order on 4 March. The single album was produced by Jon Bellion, Ojivolta, Jorgen Odegard, Teddy, 24 and Brian Lee. R is primarily a pop record with influences of synth-pop, dance-pop, electropop, EDM, alternative rock, soft rock, indie rock and rock elements.

"Shut Down" is a song by South Korean girl group Blackpink that was released on September 16, 2022, through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records as the second single of the group's second studio album, Born Pink. Described as a hip hop-based track with strings, the song was written by Teddy, Danny Chung, and Vince and composed by Teddy and 24.
