The Bob Kullen Coach of the Year Award is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season to the best coach in the conference as voted by the head coaches of each Hockey East team. [2] The award was renamed in honor of Bob Kullen who served as head coach of New Hampshire in the late-80's before heart disease forced him to receive a heart transplant and subsequently retire shortly before his death in 1990. [3]

The Coach of the Year was first awarded in 1985 and every year thereafter.

The award has been shared once, in 2009–10, between Merrimack's Mark Dennehy and New Hampshire's Dick Umile. (as of 2013)

The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference.

ECAC Hockey US collegiate ice hockey conference

ECAC Hockey is one of the six conferences that compete in NCAA Division I ice hockey. The conference used to be affiliated with the Eastern College Athletic Conference, a consortium of over 300 colleges in the eastern United States. This relationship ended in 2004; however, the ECAC abbreviation was retained in the name of the hockey conference. ECAC Hockey is the only ice hockey conference with identical memberships in both its women's and men's divisions.

Kurt Kleinendorst is an American professional ice hockey coach who is currently with the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Kleinendorst played four seasons at Providence College and was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.

Leonard Stanley Ceglarski was an American ice hockey player and coach. He was an All-American left wing on Boston College's 1949 NCAA championship team, and was captain of the 1950–51 squad. He was also a member of the U.S. Olympic hockey team that won the silver medal at the 1952 Winter Olympic Games in Oslo, Norway. Ceglarski was also known as a baseball player. While at Boston College, his .429 batting average as a senior second baseman was best in New England.

The Miami RedHawks men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. The RedHawks are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), starting play in the conference in the conference's 2013–14 inaugural season. Prior to the NCHC, from 1980 to 2013, the RedHawks were a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). They play in Steve Cady Arena at the Goggin Ice Center.

New Hampshire Wildcats womens ice hockey

The New Hampshire Wildcats represent the University of New Hampshire. They have won five ECAC championships between 1986 and 1996. When the Wildcats joined Hockey East, they won four Hockey East titles from 2006 to 2009. The Wildcats have more wins than any other women's ice hockey program at 668 in its first 32 years. The Wildcats went undefeated in their initial 74 games (73-0-1) spanning the 1978 through 1982 seasons. A UNH goaltender has been declared Hockey East Goaltending Champion in the first six years of the league's existence. From 2007 to 2009, UNH hosted NCAA Tournament Regional home games.

Richard "Dick" Umile is a former American men's ice hockey coach at the University of New Hampshire. Coaching the Wildcats from 1990 through the 2018 season, Umile led UNH to the most wins in school history.

Kelli Allison Stack is an American ice hockey forward who currently plays for Kunlun Red Star in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. She is a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Stack competed for the Boston College Eagles women's ice hockey program and after completing her Olympic commitment, returned to Boston College for her senior year of 2010–11. She was drafted 14th overall by the Boston Blades in the 2011 CWHL Draft.

The New Hampshire Wildcats men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of New Hampshire. The Wildcats are a member of Hockey East. They play at the Whittemore Center Arena in Durham, New Hampshire.

The Len Ceglarski Award is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season to the player most exemplifying the qualities of sportsmanship on the ice in the conference as voted by the head coaches of each Hockey East team. The award was created and named in honor of long-time Boston College head coach Len Ceglarski who retired following the 1991–92 season.

Charlie Holt was an American ice hockey coach. He was the head coach of the University of New Hampshire from 1968 thru 1986. He is one of three 3-time recipients of the college ice hockey National Coach-of-the-Year Award.

Robert A. Kullen was an American ice hockey coach and player. He was the head coach of the University of New Hampshire for a short time in the late 1980s before a rare heart condition that necessitated a heart transplant forced him to step away from his position and ultimately cost him his life a month later. In addition to coaching New Hampshire's ice hockey team, he also coached the New Hampshire golf team and soccer team.

Mark Dennehy is an American ice hockey head coach for the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League.

David O'Connor is an American former ice hockey coach and player. He was the interim head coach of the University of New Hampshire for a year while head coach Bob Kullen was recovering from a heart transplant.
