Aura Battler Dunbine is an anime television series created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and produced by Sotsu and Sunrise. Forty-nine episodes aired on Nagoya TV from February 5, 1983, to January 21, 1984. A three-episode anime OVA sequel entitled New Story of Aura Battler Dunbine was released in 1988. The series was later dubbed by ADV Films and was released to DVD in North America, along with the original Japanese version in 2003. It soon went out of print, and until 2018, was only available as a digital purchase from the now-defunct Daisuki site, then Sentai Filmworks licensed the series.
.hack comprises "Project .hack" and ".hack Conglomerate". It is a Japanese multimedia franchise primarily developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai. The franchise is set on an Earth with an alternate history. In this timeline, a new version of the Internet arises following a major global computer network disaster in 2005. Central to the premise is a mystery about the wildly popular in-universe video game, The World. As most of the story takes place within The World, characters typically play and interact as their avatars.
Crying Freeman is a Japanese manga series written by Kazuo Koike and illustrated by Ryoichi Ikegami. Crying Freeman follows a Japanese assassin hypnotized and trained by the Chinese mafia to serve as its agent and covered in a vast and complex dragon tattoo. A quiet but complicated killer, Freeman reflexively sheds tears after every killing as a sign of regret.
The Japanese adult visual novel Fate/stay night features a number of characters created by Type-Moon, some of whom are classified as Servants with special combat abilities. The characters listed have appeared mainly in two anime television series adaptations with a movie trilogy adaptation produced by Studio Deen and Ufotable respectively, and its visual novel sequel, Fate/hollow ataraxia. A Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works animated film was released prior to its TV series.
Blue Dragon is a Japanese anime television series adaptation of the Japanese-American video game series of the same name by Mistwalker. The series was produced by Studio Pierrot and broadcast on TV Tokyo. The first season ran for 51 episodes from April 2007 to March 2008. The second season, titled Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows, ran for 51 episodes from April 2008 to March 2009. In North America, the series was licensed by Viz Media.
Dragonar Academy is a Japanese light novel series written by Shiki Mizuchi, illustrated by Kohada Shimesaba, and published by Media Factory under the MF Bunko J imprint. The first volume was released on June 25, 2010, with a total of 20 volumes available in Japan so far. A manga adaptation by the illustrator, Ran, began serialization in Monthly Comic Alive during its June 2011 issue. It was one of five MF Bunko J light novel anime adaptations announced at Media Factory's Summer School Festival event on July 28, 2013. It has been licensed for North America by Funimation.
DokiDoki! PreCure, is a Japanese anime series produced by Toei Animation and the tenth installment in Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure metaseries, featuring the eighth generation of Cures. The series is produced by Hiroaki Shibata, who produced Digimon Data Squad, and written by Ryōta Yamaguchi, who wrote the scripts for Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, Cutie Honey Flash and The Vision of Escaflowne. Character designs were done by Akira Takahashi, who previously did character designs for Suite PreCure. The series aired on the ANN network from February 3, 2013, to January 26, 2014, replacing Smile PreCure! in its timeslot, and was succeeded by HappinessCharge PreCure!. An animated film based on the series was released on October 26, 2013. This series' main topics are love, emotions, selflessness, and selfishness, with playing card suits as the Cure's main motifs.
Sabagebu! -Survival Game Club!- (さばげぶっ!) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hidekichi Matsumoto, began serialization in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine from December 2010. The final chapter was published in the magazine's January 2017 issue. An anime adaptation by Pierrot+ aired in Japan between July and September 2014.
Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons, also known as simply Cross Ange, is a Japanese mecha anime television series produced by Sunrise that aired from October 2014 to March 2015. A manga adaptation began publication in August 2014.
Valkyrie Drive is a Japanese media franchise created by Marvelous, which was announced at the AnimeJapan convention in March 2015. The franchise consists of three projects; Mermaid, an anime television series produced by Arms Corporation, which aired in Japan from October to December 2015; Bhikkhuni, a PlayStation Vita game released on December 10, 2015 in Japan with a Western release in 2016 and a Microsoft Windows version in 2017; and Siren, a social game for iOS and Android devices released in December 2015.
Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan is a Japanese anime television series created by director Shinji Higuchi, screenwriter Mari Okada, and animation studio Bones. Toshinao Aoki is responsible for the original character designs, Yoshiyuki Itō is serving as the animation character designer and Taisei Iwasaki is composing the music. The anime project was revealed by the staff at the 2017 Tokyo Comic Con in December 2017. It began airing on April 13, 2018. It was licensed by Netflix for domestic and international streaming, and released internationally on September 21, 2018.
Cutie Honey Universe is a Japanese anime television series produced by Production Reed. It is the fifth animated project based on Go Nagai's Cutie Honey manga franchise, celebrating the author's 50th anniversary as a manga artist. The series began airing in Japan in April 2018 and is licensed in North America by Sentai Filmworks.
Megaton Musashi is a Japanese multimedia franchise by Level-5. An action role-playing video game was released in Japan for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, in November 2021. A Free-to-play version, Megaton Musashi X was released on December 1, 2022, and the third version of the game, Megaton Musashi W(Wired), was released for the Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows on April 25, 2024. An anime adaptation produced by OLM, Inc. aired from October 2021 to March 2023.
