This was the first time in the tournament's modern history that the final was not played on the afternoon of the Ascension Day. This was because of a new deadline for domestic competitions, enforced by FIFA.

The 2006–07 Danish Cup was the 53rd season of the Danish Cup. The tournament was won by Odense Boldklub who defeated F.C. Copenhagen on 17 May 2007 in Parken Stadium. It was OB's fifth title of the tournament.

The new structure was inspired by the one used by the Belgian First Division A and was approved by the Danish FA, Dansk Boldspil-Union, on 28 June 2015.

The 2019–20 Danish Superliga was the 30th season of the Danish Superliga. F.C. Copenhagen were the defending champions. The season started on 12 July 2019 and was scheduled to end in May 2020, before being suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The season instead ended on 29 July 2020.
