Although most Canadian francophone writers are from Quebec, there are also a number of francophone writers from elsewhere in Canada. These writers may be Acadian, Franco-ontarian or from any other Canadian province.

Some of these writers did move to Quebec at a later stage in their careers, and hence may also be listed at List of Quebec writers, although others did not.

This list includes songwriters as well as literary authors and poets.

Franco-Ontarians are Francophone Canadians that reside in the province of Ontario. Most are French Canadians from Ontario. Prise de parole is a Canadian book publishing company. Located in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, the company publishes French language literature, primarily but not exclusively by Franco-Ontarian authors.

André Paiement was a Canadian playwright and musician. He was one of the most prominent Franco-Ontarian artists, playing a key role in developing many of the cultural institutions of the community.

Auguste Charles Philippe Robert Landry was a Canadian parliamentarian who served as Speaker of the Senate of Canada from 1911 to 1916.

Jean-Guy (Chuck) Labelle is a Franco-Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist who performs francophone New Country-Rock music. He is from Mattawa, Ontario. His first album, Chuck, reached Gold status after two years and his second album, Un cadeau de Noël, with partner Robert Paquette, also reached Gold. His 1999 single, Le Cowboy, released in both French and English versions, was No. 1 on the European country music charts. However, in a 1999 interview on the music business, Labelle also commented that "Getting known; carving my name into the history of Franco-Ontarian performers. Distribution is a big problem." Labelle has written and produced over 150 original songs. In 2015, he received the Prix Hommage award from the Association des professionels de la chanson et de la musique.

Météo+ is a Canadian television sitcom which aired on TFO, the French language public broadcaster in Ontario, from February 14, 2008 to April 28, 2011. The series is about the colourful crew of Météo+, a fictional francophone weather channel for the Northeastern Ontario region based in Sudbury.

The Franco-Ontarian flag is a symbol created to represent Franco-Ontarians, reflecting the diverse languages, seasons and people of Ontario. The design consists of two bands of green and white. The left portion has a solid light green background with a white fleur-de-lys in the middle, while the right portion has a solid white background with a stylized green trillium in the middle.

Anselme Chiasson was a Catholic priest, educator and writer in New Brunswick. Chiasson made significant contributions to the recording of Acadian history and folklore.

The Salon du livre de Toronto is an annual book fair in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, held to celebrate and publicize French language literature. Launched in 1993 as the first French language book fair in Canada outside Quebec, the event features a program of author readings, panel discussions and publisher exhibitions over the course of several days in the fall of each year. It concentrates primarily on Franco-Ontarian authors, although publishers and writers from Quebec and France also participate.

The 2018 Franco-Ontarian Black Thursday occurred on 15 November 2018, when the government of Ontario, led by Doug Ford, announced a number of cuts to Franco-Ontarian institutions in the province, notably the elimination of the office of the French Language Services Commissioner and of the soon-to-be-opened Université de l'Ontario français. The cuts provoked a significant backlash from the Franco-Ontarian community, leading to the largest mass mobilisations in Franco-Ontarian history, surpassing those of SOS Montfort two decades earlier, and leading to the government of Ontario mostly backing down from the cuts.

The Summit on the Rapprochement of Canadian Francophonies was a summit between the different francophone communities in Canada in June 2021.
