Production I.G, Inc. is a Japanese animation studio and production enterprise. Headquartered in Musashino, Tokyo Production I.G was founded on December 15, 1987, by producer Mitsuhisa Ishikawa and character designer Takayuki Goto as "I.G Tatsunoko", a branch studio of the animation giant Tatsunoko Production, changing its name to the current Production I.G in September 1993. The letters I and G derive from the names of the company founders. Since 2007, Production I.G is a subsidiary of the IG Port holding company. Ishikawa was president and CEO of the studio until August 2022 when that position was given to George Wada with Ishikawa remaining as chairman of the company.
Medaka Box is a Japanese manga series written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Akira Akatsuki. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump between May 2009 and April 2013, with its chapters collected in 22 tankōbon volumes. The series follows Medaka Kurokami, Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, Kouki Akune and Mogana Kikaijima, who are the members of the student council, during their various adventures to honor suggestions presented by academy members in order to better the academy.

Since its debut in 2015, the series has amassed over 320,000 viewers during its run, spanning over a total of ten stage plays.
The third season of Haikyu!! anime television series, titled Haikyū!! Karasuno High School vs Shiratorizawa Academy, is produced by Production I.G. and directed by Susumu Mitsunaka, with Taku Kishimoto handling series composition, Takahiro Kishida providing character designs, and Yuki Hayashi and Asami Tachibana composed the music. It adapted the second half of "Spring High Preliminary" story arc, with the exception of chapters 191–206 from the original manga series of the same name written by Haruichi Furudate. The season aired from October 8 to December 10, 2016. Sentai Filmworks has also licensed the third season.
The fourth and final season of Haikyu!! anime television series, titled Haikyū!! To the Top, is produced by Production I.G. and Masako Satō replaced Susumu Mitsunaka as director, with the returning staff from the previous seasons. The season was announced at the Jump Festa '19 event, with a "kickoff event" for the new series being held on September 22, 2019. It adapted the first half of "Tokyo Nationals" story arc from the original manga series of the same name written by Haruichi Furudate. The fourth season premiered on January 11, 2020 on the Super Animeism block. It ran for 25 episodes, with the first cour running weekly from January 11 to April 4, 2020; the second cour was supposed to air in July 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The second cour aired from October 3 to December 19, 2020. Crunchyroll simulcasted the fourth season.
