HeartCatch PreCure! is the seventh Pretty Cure anime television series produced by Toei Animation. It follows four teenage girls who become Pretty Cure in order to stop the evil Desert Apostles before they destroy the Great Tree of Hearts and turn the world into a desert.

The series aired in Japan from February 7, 2010 to January 30, 2011, replacing Fresh Pretty Cure! in its initial timeslot and was succeeded by Suite PreCure .

The series uses three pieces of theme music, one opening and two ending themes. The opening theme is Alright! HeartCatch PreCure! (Alright!ハートキャッチプリキュア!, Alright! Hātokyatchi Purikyua) by Aya Ikeda. [1] The ending theme for episodes 1–24 is HeartCatch☆Paradise! (ハートキャッチ☆パラダイス!, Hātokyatchi☆Paradaisu!) by Mayu Kudou and the ending theme for episodes 25–49 is "Tomorrow Song ~Ashita no Uta~" (Tomorrow Song ~あしたのうた~, Tomorrow Song ~Ashita no Uta~) by Kudou. Tsubomi Hanasaki has a recurring dream in which a Pretty Cure, Cure Moonlight, is defeated while trying to defend the legendary Tree of Hearts from the evil Professor Sabark and Dark Pretty Cure. She moves to the town of Kibōgahana where she meets Erika Kurumi, a girl from her new school who tries to help the normally shy Tsubomi change her image. However, Tsubomi is put off by Erika's overly forward attitude, causing Erika to be chided by her older sister Momoka, who she is jealous of. While walking through the park, Tsubomi encounters Chypre and Coffret being chased by a woman named Sasorina. Sasorina finds Erika at the park and steals her Heart Flower, which is wilting due to her jealousy towards Momoka, turning it into a Desertrian. Upon learning of the dream Tsubomi had about Cure Moonlight, the fairies choose her to become the next Pretty Cure, Cure Blossom, and fight the Desertrian.

Unable to control her new Pretty Cure powers, Tsubomi fails in rescuing Erika's Heart Flower and is nearly killed by the Desertrian, but is saved by a mysterious man before losing consciousness. She awakens in her grandmother Kaoruko's botanical garden and discovers her grandmother was once a Pretty Cure. After receiving encouragement from her grandmother Tsubomi gains the courage to stand up to Sasorina, defeat the Desertrian, and restore Erika's Heart Flower. Tsubomi learns that by defeating Desertrians, she can collect Heart Seeds that allow the withering Tree of Hearts to become healthy.

Erika reveals that she has been having the same dream of Cure Moonlight as Tsubomi, so Chypre and Coffret deem her qualified to become a Pretty Cure. Erika initially refuses, being more concerned about finding more members for the school fashion club. She later changes her mind and becomes Cure Marine to help Tsubomi defeat the Desertrian of a girl who was denied a chance to join the school soccer club.

Tsubomi begins to fear that she is being a burden towards Erika in battle and worries that Erika will find someone else to replace her. However, she realizes that she is just as invaluable a partner for Erika as Erika is for her, and the two are able to combine their powers to defeat the Desertrian of a girl who is experiencing the same dilemma with her tennis partner.

Fresh Pretty Cure!, also known as Fresh PreCure!, is a Japanese magical girl anime series and the sixth in the Pretty Cure metaseries by Izumi Todo, featuring the fourth generation of Cures. The series premiered on February 7, 2010 on TV Asahi's ANN network, succeeding Fresh Pretty Cure!, and ended on January 30, 2011, where it was succeeded by Suite PreCure.

<i>Pretty Cure All Stars</i> Series of Japanese anime films

Pretty Cure All Stars or Precure All Stars is a series of Japanese anime films produced by Toei Animation based on Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure anime television franchise. Each movie features a storyline which crosses over characters from all Pretty Cure anime series to date. From Dream Stars onwards, the films instead feature Cures from the current series and the previous two series. However, All Stars F returns to the initial format by featuring all 78 Cures. As of September 2023, there are currently 14 main films in the series, All Stars movies are generally released shortly after the premiere of a new Pretty Cure television series. The most recent Pretty Cure team at the time of release generally has the largest involvement with the movie's plot. In the opening scenes of each movie, a running gag occurs, in which the most recent Pretty Cure team bump into older teams by accident. As well, the fairies of Pretty Cure teams know each other as friends. With the exception of A Wonderful Day with Everyone, each movie to date utilizes Miracle Lights, which are small flashlights handed out to audience members during screenings, with the finale encouraging viewers to wave their lights to support the Cures in defeating the main antagonist. The films often have a short segment instructing children on how to use their Lights safely. These Lights have also been made available for certain movies based on the individual series.

<i>Suite PreCure</i> Japanese anime television series

Suite PreCure is a Japanese anime series and the eighth installment in Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure metaseries. The series is produced by Toei Animation and directed by Munehisa Sakai, who directed the One Piece anime series. Character designs were done by Akira Takahashi, who previously worked on Kaidan Restaurant. The series aired on TV Asahi's ANN network between February 6, 2011 and January 29, 2012, replacing HeartCatch PreCure! in its timeslot, and was succeeded by Smile PreCure! A manga adaptation by Futago Kamikita was serialised in Kodansha's monthly Nakayoshi magazine.

Jitsuna Kamikita and Kizuna Kamikita, born August 11 1960 in Kōchi Prefecture, are two Japanese manga artists and character designers, twin sisters, who work together under the pseudonym of Futago Kamikita. They are best known for the manga versions of the Pretty Cure franchise.

<i>HappinessCharge PreCure!</i> Japanese anime television series

HappinessCharge PreCure!, also called HappinessCharge Pretty Cure! or Happiness Charge PC is a 2014 Japanese magical girl anime series produced by Toei Animation, and the eleventh installment in Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure metaseries, released to celebrate the franchise's 10th anniversary. It is directed by Tatsuya Nagamine, who previously directed HeartCatch PreCure!, and written by Yoshimi Narita, who previously wrote for Yes! PreCure 5, with character designs from Masayuki Sato of Air Gear.

<i>Kirakira Pretty Cure a la Mode</i> Japanese anime television series

Kirakira Pretty Cure a la Mode, stylized as Kirakira☆PreCure a la Mode, is a 2017 Japanese magical girl anime series produced by Toei Animation and the fourteenth installment in Izumi Todo's Pretty Cure metaseries, featuring the twelfth generation of Cures. It is directed by Kohei Kureta and Yukio Kaizawa. Jin Tanaka wrote the script, and Marie Ino designed the characters. The cake and sweets designs were handled by pâtissière Junko Fukuda. The series began airing on all All-Nippon News Network stations in Japan on February 5, 2017, succeeding Witchy PreCure! in its timeslot. It was then succeeded by Hug! Pretty Cure on February 4, 2018. The series' main topics are happiness and creativity, with desserts and animals as its motifs.

Hug! Pretty Cure Futari wa Pretty Cure: All Stars Memories is a 2018 Japanese animated action fantasy film based on the Pretty Cure franchise created by Izumi Todo, and its first and fifteenth series, Futari wa Pretty Cure and Hug! Pretty Cure. The film is directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto, written by Junko Komura, and produced by Toei Animation, and was released in Japanese theaters on October 27, 2018.
