The Los Angeles Galaxy are an American soccer club based in the Greater Los Angeles suburb of Carson, California, which competes in Major League Soccer, the top tier soccer league in the United States and Canada. Among MLS clubs, the Galaxy are the second most decorated club. In terms of American soccer clubs of all-time, the Galaxy are the third most decorated club in American soccer history, amassing a total of 12 major trophies (be it a World, Continental, League Premiership, League Championship or National Championship). Since 2003 the team has played in The Home Depot Center, located on the campus California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, California. Prior to that, the club played in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The following is a season results list for each year of the club's existence, [1] inclusive of all competitive competitions that the Galaxy have partaken in. [2] Friendly competitions have been excluded. The Galaxy have won a record five MLS Cups in nine final appearances, four Supporters' Shields and four second place finishes, two U.S. Open Cups in four final appearances, and one CONCACAF Champions' Cup in two title berths. The team has also finished first in the Western Conference seven times in its franchise history.

He won five MLS Cups, two Supporters' Shields, and one U.S. Open Cup during his career. He is one of only four players to have won MLS Cup five or more times. He also won four caps for the United States between 2004 and 2007. Not a flashy player, Mullan was known for his work rate, hustle, and determination on the field.

Six of the ten teams earned a direct bye into the conference semifinals, while the four wildcard teams played a single-elimination match to earn a berth into the conference semis. MLS Cup 2011, the 16th edition of Major League Soccer's championship match, was played between the Houston Dynamo and the Los Angeles Galaxy to decide the champion of the 2011 season. The soccer match was played at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California on November 20, 2011. Los Angeles won their third championship, defeating Houston 1–0 off a 72nd-minute goal from Galaxy captain Landon Donovan. David Beckham and Robbie Keane assisted the game's lone goal. With the win, the Galaxy became the first team since the Columbus Crew in 2008 to win both the Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup in the same year.

MLS Cup 2012, the 17th edition of Major League Soccer's championship match, was a rematch between the Houston Dynamo and the Los Angeles Galaxy to decide the champion of the 2012 season. The soccer match was played at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California on December 1, 2012. Los Angeles defeated Houston 3–1 giving the Galaxy their second-straight league title and their fourth overall.

The 1998 D.C. United season was the clubs' fourth year of existence, as well as their third season in Major League Soccer.

The 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs was the seventeenth post-season tournament culminating the Major League Soccer regular season. The tournament began on October 31, and culminated on December 1, 2012 with MLS Cup 2012, the seventeenth league championship for MLS, won by the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 over Houston Dynamo. It was the second year that the playoffs included ten teams, and the first playoff series since 2006 in which teams cannot cross conference brackets. The top five teams in both the Eastern and Western conferences of the league earned berths, with the top three clubs in each conference earning direct byes to the conference semifinals. The fourth and fifth-place finishers of both conferences played in a single-elimination play-in match.

MLS Cup 2014 was the 19th edition of the MLS Cup, the match that determined the champion of Major League Soccer's 2014 season. It is also the last MLS Cup to be held before the league's rebranding in 2015. The Western Conference Champions LA Galaxy played the Eastern Conference Champions New England Revolution. The soccer match was held at the Galaxy's home field of the StubHub Center in Carson, California, as the Galaxy were awarded home advantage by finishing the regular season with more points than the Revolution. The Galaxy won 2–1 after Overtime, winning their fifth MLS Cup title and also sending all-time U.S. national team goal scoring leader Landon Donovan into retirement with his sixth MLS Cup crown.

Major League Soccer teams have participated in the CONCACAF Champions Cup each season since the tournament took on the Champions League name in 2008–09. MLS may send up to seven teams to the CONCACAF Champions Cup each season — up to six from the United States, and up to one from Canada. Up to three MLS teams may also qualify through the Leagues Cup slots.

Los Angeles Football Club, commonly referred to as LAFC, is an American professional men's soccer team based in Los Angeles, California. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The club was established on October 30, 2014, and began play during the 2018 season as an expansion team. The club plays their home matches at BMO Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium located in Exposition Park.
