The Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards for 2016 was held on 18 March 2017 at People's Square and Park, Yangon. This ceremony is distinct for the beautiful stage background with Shwedagon Pagoda. For the pre-celebration of 100-year Anniversary of Myanmar Motion Picture, decorated with 100 statutes of Academy awards. The VP and the Information Minister attended as VVIP Guest. Oak-Kyer-Myat-Pouk won three golden angel trophy for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor.

Naypyidaw, officially romanized Nay Pyi Taw, is the capital and third-largest city of Myanmar. The city is located at the centre of the Naypyidaw Union Territory. It is unusual among Myanmar's cities, as it is an entirely planned city outside of any state or region. The city, then known only as Pyinmana District, officially replaced Yangon as the administrative capital of Myanmar on 6 November 2005; its official name was revealed to the public on Armed Forces Day, 27 March 2006.
The 2013 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 27th Southeast Asian Games, or the 27th SEA Games, and commonly known as Naypyitaw 2013, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event took place in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from 11 to 22 December 2013, Around 4730 athletes from 11 participating nations competed at the games, which featured 460 events in 34 sports. The games were held from 11 to 22 December 2013.
Yezin is a university village located beside the Yangon-Mandalay Road. The village of Yezin, 12 miles far from north-east of Pyinmana, Burma, has been the site of national scientific research institutions since the late 1970s, when the Forest Research Institute (FRI) was established. Soon after the FRI was established, other institutions followed the suit and the place became an academic hub for Forestry, Agriculture and Veterinary. It is located within Naypyidaw Municipal area. Because of the universities and research institutes, the village is famous as the university village. Yezin became a well known academic center long before Nay Pyi Taw was established and became the capital in 2005. Yezin has a dam and it is called Yezin dam. People around Pyinmana used to visit to the dam.
Naypyidaw International Airport officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw, , is located 16 kilometres southeast of Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar. Before the foundation of Naypyidaw, this was referred to as the airport of the nearby town of Lewe. The airport officially opened on 19 December 2011.
The Defence Services Technological Academy (DSTA) (Burmese: တပ်မတော် နည်းပညာ တက္ကသိုလ်, pronounced[taʔmədɔ̀nípjɪ̀ɰ̃ɲàtɛʔkəθò]), located in Pyin-Oo-Lwin, Myanmar, is the premier technological university of the Myanmar Armed Forces. One of the most selective universities in the country, the academy offers various Bachelor of Engineering degrees to male cadets only. Upon graduation, most DSTA cadets are commissioned as Engineering Officers with the rank of Lieutenant in one of the three branches of Burmese armed forces--army, navy, and air force. Some qualified cadets may choose (or be chosen) to pursue further education in Yangon Technological University, Mandalay Technological University or abroad. Brigadier General Kyi Khine is the Commandant of Defense Services Technological Academy (DSTA).
Uppātasanti Pagoda is a prominent landmark in Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar. The pagoda houses a Buddha tooth relic. It is nearly a same-sized replica of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and stands 99 metres (325 ft) tall.
Nay Toe is an Arakanese film actor and comedian with the Burmese traditional anyeint troupe Htawara Hninzi. He won Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards for Best Actor three times: in 2009 with Moe Nya Einmet Myu, in 2015 with Nat Khat Mhar Tae Tite Pwal and in 2017 with Tar Tay Gyi. He also won the Star Award for the film Bridge of Clouds in 2018. He is one of the highest-paid actors in Myanmar.
The Directorate of Medical Services (DMS) commands the Myanmar Army Medical Corps. The DMS also commands some military academies jointly with other directorates. Currently the Director of DMS is Maj Gen Soe Win. There are one Director, one Deputy Director, two Staff Officers and two Staff Officers in DMS.
Adam, Eve and Datsa or Ar-Dan-Yal-Aye-Wa-Yal-Da-Tha-Yal is a 2010 Burmese drama film produced by Heart & Soul Film Production. It was based on Ponnya Khin's novel Achit or Winkabar. It was directed by Wyne. Pyay Ti Oo, Sai Sai Kham Leng and Thet Mon Myint starred as the main characters. This film showed in Singapore on 4 September 2011 and Los Angeles in United States on 19 and 20 November 2011.
The Sarpay Beikman Manuscript Awards are annual literary awards given in Burma by the Sarpay Beikman, a department of the Ministry of Information. They are awarded for unpublished manuscripts in various fiction and non-fiction categories. Sarpay Beikman publishes the winning entries, as well as giving a financial prize. The awards complement the Burma National Literature Award and the privately sponsored Sayawun Tin Shwe Award, Pakokku U Ohn Pe literary award, Thuta Swesone literary award and Tun Foundation award.
Asia World Group is a Burmese conglomerate. It is Myanmar's largest and most diversified conglomerate, with interests in industrial development, construction, transportation, import-export, and a local supermarket chain. About half of Singapore's investment in Myanmar comes from Asia World affiliates.
The MNL Myanmar 2013 is the Myanmar National League's fourth full regular season. The fixture schedule was released on third weeks of December 2012. The season is scheduled to begin on 5 January 2013 and end on 25 August 2013. At the end of the 2013 season, the top two teams from the MNL-2 New Holland League will be promoted to the MNL while the two bottom teams from the MNL will be relegated to the MNL-2.
The 2014 AFC U-19 Championship was the 38th edition of the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for players aged 19 and below. Myanmar were approved as hosts of the competition on 25 April 2013. The tournament was held from 9 to 23 October 2014, with the top four teams qualifying for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Wunna Theikdi Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Naypyidaw, Myanmar. It can seat 30,000 spectators. The stadium hosted the 2013 Southeast Asian Games and 2014 ASEAN Para Games opening and closing ceremonies. In addition, it hosted the events of 2015 National Sports Festival and 2018 ASEAN University Games. Currently, it is hosting state and region sports competitions. There are offices of Myanmar Olympic Committee and Department of Youth Affairs of Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Tint Hsan was the Minister for Sports from 2011 to 2016. He owns A.C.E. Group of Companies, a major Burmese construction company.
The Yangon–Mandalay Expressway is a tolled expressway in Myanmar (Burma) that connects the country's largest city Yangon and second largest city Mandalay. Opened in December 2010, the 587 km (365 mi) expressway has reduced the travel time between Yangon and Mandalay to 7 hours from 13 hours by train and from 16 hours by the old highway. The highway, which does not meet international design, construction and safety standards has seen a spate of accidents since its opening.
The 2015 Myanmar National League is the 6th season of the Myanmar National League, the top Burmese professional league for association football clubs. The first round of the season began on 10 January 2015, with the last round ending on 31 October 2015. The Myanmar National League will be temporarily suspended for three months from 8 March to 22 June due to the 2015 Southeast Asian Games held in Singapore. The 2015 transfer window for Myanmar National League clubs will open from 19 May 2015 to 18 June 2015.
The Naypyidaw Development Committee is the administrative body of Naypyidaw, the administrative capital of Myanmar (Burma). NPTDC is separate from the Naypyidaw Council.
Myanmar Idol is a popular Myanmar singing contest television series that is broadcast on MNTV. Its first season, in 2015, was described by The Myanmar Times as a "wild success". Due to its popularity, it has been extended for a fifth season in 2020. Since Season 3, the competition format has utilized a wild card during the top 4+1 show.
Nwet Nwet Mu was a Burmese actress. She won Best Actress Award in 1974 Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards. She was famous from the 1970s until her death.
