NBL1 North, formerly the Queensland Basketball League (QBL), is a semi-professional basketball league in Queensland and Northern Territory, Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition. In 2020, Basketball Queensland partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Queensland. NBL1 replaced the former QBL to create more professional pathways and opportunities for males and females playing basketball in Queensland. As a result, the QBL became the north conference of NBL1. In 2022, the league expanded into the Northern Territory with the addition of a club from Darwin.

Christopher James Goulding is an Australian professional basketball player for Melbourne United of the National Basketball League (NBL). He made his debut in the NBL in 2006 as a development player with the Brisbane Bullets, going on to play for the Perth Wildcats and Gold Coast Blaze, before settling in Melbourne. In the NBL, Goulding is a three-time championship winner and a two-time All-NBL First Team honouree. He also won the league's scoring title in 2014 and claimed Grand Final MVP honours in 2018. Goulding is a regular with the Australian Boomers, but he also holds a British passport thanks to his father, which allowed him to play as a local in Spain and Italy between 2014 and 2016.

Jason Robert Cadee is an Australian professional basketball player for the Gold Coast Rollers of the NBL1 North. He is also contracted with the Adelaide 36ers of the National Basketball League (NBL).

Todd Blanchfield is an Australian professional basketball player for the Gold Coast Rollers of the NBL1 North. He is also contracted with the Illawarra Hawks of the National Basketball League (NBL). He began his NBL career in 2009 with the Townsville Crocodiles, where he played six seasons. Between 2015 and 2023, he played for Melbourne United (2015–17), Sydney Kings (2017–18), Illawarra Hawks (2018–20) and Perth Wildcats (2020–23). In 2017, he won a gold medal with Australia at the FIBA Asia Cup.

Logan Thunder is a NBL1 North club based in Logan, Queensland, Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 North. The club is a division of Logan Basketball Inc., the major administrative basketball organisation in the region. The Thunder play their home games at Cornubia Park Sports Centre.

Mitchell Robert Norton is an Australian professional basketball player for the Brisbane Bullets of the National Basketball League (NBL). He began his career in 2011 with the Townsville Crocodiles before joining the Illawarra Hawks in 2016 following the collapse of his hometown team. After two seasons with the Hawks, he joined the Perth Wildcats in 2018 where he won two consecutive championships. He has also played for the Townsville Heat in the Queensland Basketball League and the Southland Sharks in the New Zealand NBL.

Christopher Cedar is an Australian professional basketball player who last played for the Southern Districts Spartans of the NBL1 North. He previously played six seasons for the Townsville Crocodiles in the National Basketball League between 2007 and 2013. He returned to the Crocodiles for a short stint in 2016. Cedar is also a long-time QBL veteran, having played for the Townsville Heat, Rockhampton Rockets and Mackay Meteors. He won QBL championships in 2014 and 2015. In 2020, he played for the Logan Thunder in the Queensland State League (QSL). In 2021, he won the inaugural NBL1 North championship with Mackay.

USC Rip City is a NBL1 North club based in Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 North. The club is a division of the University of the Sunshine Coast Basketball Association (USCBA), one of two major administrative basketball organisations in the region, the other being Sunshine Coast Basketball Association. The Rip play their home games at USC Stadium.

Shaun Bruce is an Australian professional basketball player for the Sydney Kings of the National Basketball League (NBL). He began his NBL career in 2012 as a development player with the Cairns Taipans, before earning a full-time roster spot in 2013. In 2016, he moved south to join the Brisbane Bullets. After half a season with the Adelaide 36ers in 2019, he joined the Kings.

Gladstone Port City Power is a Queensland State League (QSL) basketball club based in Gladstone, Queensland. The club fields a team in both the Men's QSL and Women's QSL in the 2021 competition. Nicholas Colin Kay is an Australian professional basketball player who last played for Shimane Susanoo Magic of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the Metro State Roadrunners before beginning his professional career in the National Basketball League (NBL). He won two NBL championships with the Perth Wildcats in 2019 and 2020. He also won a New Zealand NBL championship and league MVP honours with the Wellington Saints in 2019. In 2021, he won a bronze medal with the Australian national team at the Tokyo Olympics.

NBL1 is a semi-professional basketball league in Australia, consisting of South, North, Central, West and East Conferences with both men's and women's competitions. Each conference is run by their respective state governing body, with the league including 76 clubs from across every state and territory.

The 2020 NBL1 season was due to be the second season of NBL1, and the first season utilising the conference system after the Queensland Basketball League (QBL) and Premier League joined the league during the off-season. The season was scheduled to begin on March 14 for the Central Conference, April 18 for the South Conference and April 24 for the North Conference, however the COVID-19 pandemic forced the start of the season to be delayed, and later cancelled.

Jarred Bairstow is an Australian professional basketball player for the Hobart Chargers of the NBL1 South. He is also contracted with the Tasmania JackJumpers of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played three seasons of college basketball in the United States for the Central Oklahoma Bronchos before returning to Australia and spending the 2016–17 season as a development player with his hometown Brisbane Bullets in the NBL. He previously played nine seasons across the Queensland Basketball League (QBL) and Queensland State League (QSL), and spent the 2020–21 NBL season with the Perth Wildcats.

Aaron Grabau is an Australian former professional basketball player. He played 14 seasons for the Cairns Taipans of the National Basketball League (NBL).

Cameron Tragardh is an Australian former professional basketball player who played 13 seasons in the National Basketball League (NBL). He made his debut in the NBL in 2003 and played for the Townsville Crocodiles, Brisbane Bullets, Wollongong Hawks, Melbourne Tigers, and Cairns Taipans across his career. He was named NBL Most Improved Player in 2008 and NBL Best Sixth Man in 2015. He was also named to the All-NBL Team twice.
