Northwest Missouri State University is a public university in Maryville, Missouri. It has an enrollment of about 8,505 students. Founded in 1905 as a teachers college, its campus is based on the design for Forest Park at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair and is the official Missouri State Arboretum. The school is governed by a state-appointed Board of Regents and headed by President Dr. Lance Tatum.
Eugene Philip Amano is a former American football offensive lineman. Playing for the Tennessee Titans from 2004 to 2013 as both a center and guard, he replaced eight-time All-Pro selection Kevin Mawae as starting center in 2010. Amano is one of three NFL players to be born in the Philippines, along with Tim Tebow and Fred Jones.
Daniel Paul Connolly is a former American football player. He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2005 after playing college football at Southeast Missouri State. Connolly played eight seasons for the New England Patriots, winning Super Bowl XLIX over the Seattle Seahawks in his final season.

Charles Douglas Winslow is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins. He played college football at Drake University and was drafted in the eighth round of the 1973 NFL Draft.

Edgar Devon Jones is a former American football linebacker. After playing college football at Southeast Missouri State, he was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played for the Ravens for five seasons from 2007 to 2011. He also played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys.
The Central Missouri Mules football program represents the University of Central Missouri in college football and competes in the NCAA Division II. In 1912, Central Missouri was a charter member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), and has remained in the league. UCM's home games are played at Audrey J. Walton Stadium in Warrensburg, Missouri.
