John William Xeres-Burgos Joseph Jr., also known as Johnny Midnight was a Filipino radio and television broadcaster. He was a pioneer reporter of Radyo Patrol in the 1960s. He was awarded with the Presidential Humanitarian Award of the First Order by then President Ferdinand Marcos due to his work in helping the victims of the 1968 Casiguran earthquake in Binondo, Manila. He died due to prostate cancer on October 6, 2014.

The United Football League, commonly known as the UFL, was an association football league, replaced by the Philippines Football League, based in the National Capital Region of the Philippines, governed by the Football Alliance (FA) in partnership with United Football Clubs Association (UFCA). The UFL was the Philippines' primary football league. In its last season in 2016, it was contested by 12 clubs and operated without a system of promotion and relegation with UFL Division 2, which was discontinued. Games were often scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. To avoid the country's rainy season, the league usually kicked off sometime between the months of January and February each year.

The Amazing Race Philippines is a Philippine adventure reality game show based on the international Amazing Race franchise. Following the premise of other versions of the format, the show follows teams of two as they race across the Philippines. Each season is split into legs, with teams tasked to deduce clues, navigate themselves in foreign areas, interact with locals, perform physical and mental challenges, and travel by air, boat, car, taxi, and other modes of transport. Teams are progressively eliminated at the end of most legs for being the last to arrive at designated Pit Stops. The first team to arrive at the Finish Line wins the grand prize of ₱2 million.

The Amazing Race Philippines 1 is the first season of The Amazing Race Philippines. It featured eleven teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship, in a race around the Philippines to win ₱2 million. The show is hosted by Derek Ramsay.

The first season of The Voice of the Philippines was a Philippine reality singing competition. It was part of The Voice franchise and was based from a similar competition format in the Netherlands called The Voice of Holland. The show was hosted by Toni Gonzaga with Robi Domingo, and Alex Gonzaga serving as the V-Reporters or as the social media correspondents. Bamboo Mañalac, Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga, and apl.de.ap serves as the four coaches and the judging panel of the show.

The Philippine Popular Music Festival is an annual songwriting competition organized by the Philpop MusicFest Foundation and was launched in 2012. The creation of the festival was inspired by the defunct Metro Manila Popular Music Festival. The foundation itself is headed by the chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, executive director Ryan Cayabyab and administrator and communications director Patricia Bermudez-Hizon. The competition is only open to original and previously unreleased songs in English, Filipino and other Philippine languages. Since its inception, it has been airing annually in TV5.

The second season of The Voice of the Philippines was a reality singing competition in ABS-CBN which started airing on October 26, 2014. apl.de.ap, Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, and Bamboo Mañalac returned as coaches for this season. Toni Gonzaga also returned to host the show; she was also joined by The Voice Kids host, Luis Manzano. Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga also returned to reprise their roles as the show's V-reporters.

Drag Race Philippines is a Philippine reality competition television series. It is a spin-off of RuPaul's Drag Race. The series is produced by World of Wonder and Fullhouse Asia Production Studios. The series airs on WOW Presents Plus, Discovery+, and HBO Go in the Philippines, Crave in Canada, and WOW Presents Plus in the rest of the world.
