Nelonen is a Finnish commercial television channel. It started out as Helsinki's local television channel PTV in 1990 on the HTV cable network, and changed its name first to PTV4. On June 1, 1997, the channel expanded to national coverage and changed its name to Nelonen, the Finnish name of the number four. Nelonen is mostly owned by Sanoma Corporation, which owns the Helsingin Sanomat and Ilta-Sanomat newspapers. Its largest owner was Aatos Erkko. Much of its programming is imported Australian, American, British, and European programs with Finnish captions. Its main market is the 25-44 demographic.

The series was further renewed for a third season, which premiered on 3 January 2014.

Selviytyjät Suomi is a Finnish reality show based on Survivor. It premiered on MTV3 on 21 February 2013.

The eleventh season of Big Brother Suomi premiered on 1 September 2019 and was aired on Jim and Nelonen. This is the first season to air on Jim and Nelonen after the first ten seasons aired on Sub from 2005–2014. After a five-year hiatus, the revival of Big Brother Suomi was announced on 14 January 2019 alongside the revival of the Polish edition of Big Brother.

Masked Singer Suomi is a Finnish reality singing competition television series based on the Masked Singer franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer. It premiered on MTV3 on 14 March 2020, and is hosted by Ilkka Uusivuori and the panelists are Janne Kataja, Jenni Kokander and Maria Veitola.

Selviytyjät Suomi is the sixth season of the Finnish reality television series Selviytyjät Suomi. This season is filmed in the Dominican Republic where 16 celebrities are split into tribes and compete in challenges to survive and compete against each other to win €30,000. The season premiered on 29 August 2021 on Nelonen.

Selviytyjät Suomi is the seventh season of the Finnish reality television series Selviytyjät Suomi. The season returns to Malaysia for the first time since 2013 where eight new celebrity contestants face off against eight former contestants returning for a second chance to win the prize of €30,000 and the title of Sole Survivor. The season premiered on 27 August 2022 on Nelonen. Amazing RaceSuomi is a Finnish reality competition show based on the American series The Amazing Race. Hosted by Heikki Paasonen and following the premise of other versions in the Amazing Race franchise, the show follows teams of two as they race around the world. Each season is split into legs, with teams tasked to deduce clues, navigate themselves in foreign areas, interact with locals, perform physical and mental challenges, and travel by air, boat, car, taxi, and other modes of transport. Teams are progressively eliminated at the end of most legs for being the last to arrive at designated Pit Stops. The first team to arrive at the Finish Line wins the grand prize of EUR30,000.

This is the first season of Amazing Race Suomi, a Finnish reality competition show based on the American series The Amazing Race. Hosted by Heikki Paasonen, it featured twelve teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship and including at least one celebrity contestant, in a race around Southeast Asia to win €30,000. This season visited two continents and seven countries and travelled over 26,000 kilometres (16,000 mi) during twelve legs. Starting in Helsinki, racers travelled through Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore before returning to Finland and finishing in Helsinki. The season premiered on 30 September 2023 on Nelonen and concluded on 16 December.

Selviytyjät Suomi is the ninth season of the Finnish reality television series Selviytyjät Suomi. The season returns to Langkawi, Malaysia where 18 Finnish celebrities compete in tribes against each other for 37 days to win the grand prize of €30,000 and claim the title of Sole Survivor. Riku Rantala returns to host. The season is slated to premiere on 1 September 2024 on Nelonen.

This is the second season of Amazing Race Suomi, a Finnish reality competition show based on the American series The Amazing Race. Hosted by Heikki Paasonen, it features eleven teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship and including at least one celebrity contestant, in a race around Central Europe and Latin America to win €30,000. This season visited three continents and travelled over 20,000 kilometres (12,000 mi) during twelve legs. Starting in Vantaa, racers travelled through Poland, Romania, Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica before returning to Finland and finishing in Helsinki. The Express Pass was introduced as a new twist for this season. The season premiered on 5 October 2024 on Nelonen and concluded on 21 December 2024.

Janne Lehtonen, sometimes referred to by his nickname 'Janezkyy', is a Finnish entrepreneur, firefighter, and former Special Operation Forces soldier for the Finnish Navy, who is known for appearing in finnish reality television show Erikoisjoukot as the Head Instructor, and competing in adventure show Amazing Race Suomi. He is known to be one of the very first people to be recruited to the official Finnish Special Forces of the Navy.
