Foreign relations of Kazakhstan are primarily based on economic and political security consideration. The Nazarbayev administration has tried to balance relations with Russia and the United States by sending petroleum and natural gas to its northern neighbor at artificially low prices while assisting the U.S. in the War on Terror. Kazakhstan is a member of the United Nations, Collective Security Treaty Organization, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, North Atlantic Cooperation Council, Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and NATO's Partnership for Peace program. Kazakhstan established a customs union with Russia and Belarus which eventually became the Eurasian Economic Union. President Nazarbayev has prioritized economic diplomacy into Kazakhstan's foreign policy.

The year 1948 marked the beginning of the institutionalised modern European integration. With the start of the Cold War, the Treaty of Brussels was signed in 1948 establishing the Western Union (WU) as the first organisation. In the same year, the International Authority for the Ruhr and the Organization for European Economic Co-operation, the predecessor of the OECD, were also founded, followed in 1949 by the Council of Europe, and in 1951 by the European Coal and Steel Community, with the ensuing moves to create further communities leading to the Treaty of Rome (1957).
Relations exist and have existed between Austria and Turkey and their predecessor states, the Habsburg monarchy and Ottoman Empire respectively. The countries fought as allies during the First World War. The countries have since had normal relations, however Austrian opposition to the Accession of Turkey to the European Union has become a point of tension. Both countries are members of the Council of Europe. Austria is an EU member and Turkey is an EU candidate. Austria opposes Turkey's accession negotiations to the EU, although negotiations have now been suspended. Turkey is a member of NATO. Austria is not a member of NATO.
The Freedom Party of Austria is a national-conservative, right-wing populist, eurosceptic, and far-right political party in Austria. It has been led by Herbert Kickl since 2021. It is the third largest of five parties in the National Council, with 30 of the 183 seats, and won 16.2% of votes cast in the 2019 legislative election and it is represented in all nine state legislatures. On a European level, the FPÖ is a founding member of the Identity and Democracy Party and its six MEPs sit with the Patriots for Europe (PfE) group following the dissolution of its predecessor, Identity and Democracy (ID).

The ambassador and permanent representative of Australia to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development is an officer of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the head of the delegation of the Commonwealth of Australia to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France. The position has the rank and status of an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and has been sent since Australia, represented by Deputy Prime Minister Doug Anthony and Ambassador to France Alan Renouf, acceded to the OECD on 7 June 1971. The delegation to the OECD is based with the Australian Embassy in Paris and the Ambassador has resided in the Embassy since its opening in 1978.
The Committee of European Economic Co-operation (CEEC) was a joint European conference to determine the priorities for the recovery of the European economy after World War II, and to assist in the administration of the Marshall Plan. The committee, consisting of representatives from 16 European nations, met from 12 July to 22 September 1947 in Paris, France.
