The 12th Cavalry is a cavalry regiment of the United States Army.

Reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) refers to a joint doctrine of reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition conducted by the United States Armed Forces. RSTA operations are designed to support military operations at a strategic, operational, or tactical level, either by dedicated RSTA forces or those which possess the capability.

The United States Army Regimental System (USARS) is an organizational and classification system used by the United States Army. It was established in 1981 to replace the Combat Arms Regimental System (CARS) to provide each soldier with continuous identification with a single regiment, and to increase a soldier's probability of serving recurring assignments with his or her regiment. The USARS was intended to enhance combat effectiveness by providing the opportunity for a regimental affiliation, thus obtaining some of the benefits of the traditional regimental system.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">73rd Cavalry Regiment</span> Military unit

The 73rd Cavalry Regiment is a Cavalry Regiment in the United States Army, first formed in 1941. The three squadrons of the 73rd Cavalry Regiment provide reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) to the Brigade Combat Teams of the 82nd Airborne Division. 3rd Squadron is assigned to 1st Brigade, 1st Squadron is assigned to 2nd Brigade, and 5th Squadron is assigned to 3rd Brigade.

The 238th Cavalry Regiment was a United States Army parent cavalry regiment, represented in the Indiana Army National Guard by Troop E, 238th Cavalry, part of the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, stationed at Bluffton.

The 150th Cavalry Regiment is a regiment of the West Virginia Army National Guard, with troops in multiple locations throughout West Virginia and one troop in Sanford, North Carolina. It was originally formed as Greenbrier County militia, fighting for Virginia in the American Revolutionary War. During the American Civil War, companies of the regiment loyal to the recognized Union state government in Wheeling were later combined to form the Union Army's 5th and 9th West Virginia Infantry regiments, aiding in the defeat of Confederate troops in West Virginia, Ohio and Virginia.

The 33rd Armor Regiment was an armored regiment in the United States Army first formed in 1941. In 2005, the 33rd Armor was redesignated 33rd Cavalry Regiment. The 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, a part of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, carries on the lineage of 33rd Armor Regiment.

The 185th Armor Regiment was an armor regiment of the United States Army consisting of soldiers from the California Army National Guard.

The 3rd Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army, first formed in 1812, although regimental units trace their lineages as far back as 1794. Based on the service of these antecedents, the regiment claims battle honors for the War of 1812, the Seminole campaign, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish–American War, and the Philippine Insurrection. The regiment served with the 6th Division during World War I, with the 5th Division, 6th Division and 2d Cavalry Division between the world wars, and with the 9th Armored Division during and after World War II. Since 1961, the regiment has been a parent regiment under the Combat Arms Regimental System and the U.S. Army Regimental System, with regimental elements serving with the 1st, 6th, and 8th Infantry Divisions; 2nd and 3rd Armored Divisions; 1st Cavalry Division; 194th Armored Brigade; and various field artillery brigades and groups. Two regimental battalions are currently active: the 2nd Battalion in the 1st Armored Division and the 5th Battalion in the 17th Field Artillery Brigade

It was redesignated and reactivated in 2005 as the 40th Cavalry Regiment and assigned to the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 11th Airborne Division.

The 303rd Cavalry Regiment is a United States cavalry regiment, currently represented in the Washington Army National Guard by the 1st Squadron, 303rd Cavalry, headquartered at Vancouver, Washington, part of the 96th Troop Command. It incorporates the lineage of the 303rd Cavalry, 303rd Armor, and 803rd Armor Regiments of the Washington Army National Guard.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Troop B, 202nd Cavalry Regiment</span> Military unit

Troop B, 202nd Cavalry was the armored cavalry reconnaissance troop of the 218th Infantry Brigade of the South Carolina Army National Guard from 1991 to 2008. It was redesignated from Troop B, 713th Cavalry, which served in the same role from 1973. Troop B, 713th Cavalry was the only unit assigned to the 713th Cavalry parent regiment under the Combat Arms Regimental System, which carried over to the replacement United States Army Regimental System, and Troop B, 202nd Cavalry was likewise the only unit assigned to the 202nd Cavalry parent regiment under the latter.

The 124th Cavalry Regiment is a United States Army cavalry regiment, represented in the Texas Army National Guard by 1st Squadron, 124th Cavalry, part of the 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team at Waco.

The 94th Cavalry Regiment is a United States Army cavalry regiment, represented in the Minnesota Army National Guard by 1st Squadron, 94th Cavalry, part of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, stationed at Duluth.

Troop E,256th Cavalry was the armored cavalry reconnaissance troop of the 256th Infantry Brigade of the Louisiana Army National Guard from 1967 to 1995. It was the only unit assigned to the 256th Cavalry parent regiment under the Combat Arms Regimental System, which carried over to the replacement United States Army Regimental System.

The 237th Cavalry Regiment was a United States Army parent cavalry regiment, represented in the Ohio Army National Guard by Troop A, 237th Cavalry, part of the 73rd Infantry Brigade with headquarters at Cincinnati.
