This is a list of current and former Roman Catholic churches in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing. [1] The Lansing diocese includes three of Michigan's largest cities (Lansing, Ann Arbor, and Flint) and covers 10 counties as follows: Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Shiawassee and Washtenaw. [2]

Contents

The cathedral church of the diocese is the Gothic Revival St. Mary Cathedral, built in 1913 in Lansing.

Joseph H. Albers D.D. was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. Albers served as the first bishop of the new Diocese of Lansing in Michigan in from 1937 until his death in 1964. He served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in Ohio from 1929 until 1937.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">St. Mary Church (Lansing)</span> First Roman Catholic Church of Lansing, Michigan

Saint Mary Church of Lansing was the first Catholic church built in Lansing, Michigan, as well as having the distinction of the first brick church edifice, brick parsonage and church bells in the city. It was part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. The church was dedicated in 1866 and served the parish until 1904. It was demolished in 1905 and eventually replaced by the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in 1913.
