Vidarbha is an easternmost region of Indian state of Maharashtra comprising Nagpur Division and Amravati Division. It occupies 31.6% of total area and holds 21.3% of total population of Maharashtra.

Nagpur is the largest city of Vidarbha as well as in central India followed by Amravati. A total of 4 cities of Vidarbha region have municipal corporations.

Anjangaon is a city and a municipal council in Amravati district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Anjangaon City got the status of Municipal Council in 1930. It is technically made up of two main zones, Anjangaon and Surji, on either side of Shahanur River, and is called Anjangaon-Surji in combination. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Vidarbha movement</span> Movement for proposed separate Kosal state in India

The Vidarbha movement includes political activities organised by various individuals, organizations and political parties, for creation of a separate state of Vidarbha, within the republic of India, with Nagpur as the capital. The proposed state corresponds to the eastern 11 districts of the state of Maharashtra. It makes up for 31% of area and 21% of population of the present state of Maharashtra. The area is covered by thick tropical forests and is surplus in electricity, minerals, rice and cotton.

Nagpur broad-gauge Metro is a commuter rail project planned for the city of Nagpur and extending up to adjacent areas of Wardha, Yavatmal, Narkhed, Ramtek, Bhandara, Amravati, Wadsa and Chhindwara in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, India. This project will be executed by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited. According to some Government officials first broad gauge metro will run in December 2023 on Nagpur to Yavatmal line via Wardha.And inauguration will be taken place in hand of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
