The OBX Index is a stock market index which lists the 25 most liquid companies on the main index of the Oslo Stock Exchange in Norway. All stocks on the OBX list can be traded with options and futures. The companies on the OBX list are rotated twice a year, on the third Friday of June and December.

Smedvig ASA, ("Smedvig"), was a Norwegian offshore oil rig company headquartered in Stavanger until it was acquired by rig newcomer SeaDrill of tanker mogul John Fredriksen. At time of the merger Smedvig operated two semi submersibles, one drillship and one jack up rig in the Norwegian and British sector of the North Sea. A fleet of seven tender rigs were operated in South East Asia from the Singaporean subsidiary Smedvig Asia. As part of the merger, Smedvig's staff was transferred to Seadrill with Smedvig senior personnel assuming key positions in Seadrill. Smedvig was delisted from the OSE and NYSE, while Seadrill is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Amedia AS is the second largest media company in Norway. The company is whole or partial owner of 50 local and regional newspaper with online newspapers and printing presses, and its own news agency, Avisenes Nyhetsbyrå. The corporation also owns and operates a group of printing plants under the brand name Prime Print in Russia.

Norwegian Property is a real estate company that has a portfolio in Oslo and Stavanger, Norway. Deep Sea Supply is an international operator of offshore supply vessels. It operates nine anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS) and two platform supply vessels (PSV). 17 ships are under construction. Eitzen Group was a shipping and investment corporation based in Oslo, Norway. The parent company was Eitzen Holding AS and was entirely owned by the Eitzen family which owns Eitzen Invest and 53.7% of Camillo Eitzen & Co. The investment company owned a portfolio of real estate and other investments, including Hydranor and a major share of Norse Energy as well as in the fishing industry.

A/S Holmenkolbanen was a company that owned and operated part of the Oslo Tramway and Oslo Metro in Norway from 1898 until 1975 when services were taken over by the majority owner Oslo Sporveier. Holmenkolbanen opened the Holmenkoll Line in 1898, and expanded it to become the first Nordic underground railway in 1928. The company took over operations of the Smestad Line in 1933, the Sognsvann Line in 1934. The company was merged into Oslo Sporveier in 1992.
