The Deputy Speaker of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly [1] is subordinate to the speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram. They are responsible for the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram and the second highest ranking legislative officer of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. They act as the presiding officer in case of leave or absence caused by death or illness of the Speaker of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. The deputy speaker is chosen from sitting members of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. [2] The deputy speaker can be removed from office by a resolution passed in the assembly by an effective majority of its members. [3] [4]

Lalduhoma is an Indian politician who serves as the 6th Chief Minister of Mizoram since 8 December 2023. Formerly an Indian Police Service officer, he resigned from the security service to the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and was elected as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from Mizoram and President of the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee in 1984. He however left the party from which he was elected two years later, for which he was disqualified from the Parliament. He became the first MP in India to be discharged based upon its anti-defection law.

Brigadier Ṭhenphunga Sailo, AVSM (1922–2015) was an Indian military officer and politician who served as the 2nd Chief Minister of Mizoram. He founded the Mizoram People's Conference, one of the major political parties in Mizoram. He was a recipient of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Padma Shri for his military service and humanitarian works, and the Mizo Award for his lifetime achievements.

Lorrain Lalpekliana Chinzah is an Indian politician in the state of Mizoram. He is currently serving as Adviser to Chief Minister on Health & Family Welfare & Agriculture. He was elected as an MLA from Lawngtlai East constituency of Lawngtlai district. In the 2023 Mizoram Legislative Assembly Elections he defeated sitting MLA H. Biakzaua by a huge margin of 2,101 votes.

Lalfamkima is an Indian politician from Mizoram. Representing the Zoram People's Movement, he is the current Deputy Speaker of Mizoram Legislative Assembly.

The 8th Mizoran Legislative Assembly was constituted in 2018 and held twelve sessions before being succeeded by the 9th assembly in 2024. It represented the northeastern state of Mizoram, India. The Mizo National Front, led by Pu Zoramthanga, won an absolute majority. Pu Lalrinliana Sailo served as Speaker.

R. Rohmingliana is an Indian politician from Mizoram. He won the 2023 Mizoram Legislative Assembly Election on MNF ticket from Thorang constituency which is reserved for ST community in Lunglei district. He defeated sitting MLA Zodintluanga Ralte of Indian National Congress by a margin of 62 votes.
