This is a list of administrators and governors of Bauchi State, Nigeria. Bauchi State was formed on 3 February 1976 [1] when North-Eastern State was divided into Bauchi, Borno, and Gongola states.

It is located on the northern edge of the Jos Plateau, at an elevation of 616 m. The Local Government Area covers an area of 3,687 km2 and had a population of 493,810 in 2006.

Mallam Isa Yuguda was Governor of Bauchi State, Nigeria. He was first elected in April 2007, on the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) platform. In April 2009, he changed allegiance from the ANPP to the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Yaguda was reelected governor on 28 April 2011.

Garba Duba is a retired Nigerian Army Lieutenant general who was Governor of Bauchi State, Nigeria from July 1978 to October 1979 during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo, and Administrator of Sokoto State from January 1984 to August 1985 during the military regime of Major General Muhammadu Buhari.

Mohammed Bello Kaliel was a Nigerian Army Colonel and the first Governor of Bauchi State, Nigeria after it was created on 3 February 1976 when North-Eastern State was divided into Bauchi, Borno, and Gongola states, during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo. He held office until July 1978.

Abu Ali is a retired Nigerian Army brigadier general, he was Governor of Bauchi State, Nigeria from August 1990 to July 1992 during the military regime of Major General Ibrahim Babangida and is now the current Etsu of Bassa Nge in Kogi State, He is a complete Bassa Nge by tribe from Kpata. North Central Nigeria. He is a first class title holder who is widely respected.

Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is Nigerian politician who has served as governor of Bauchi State since 2019. Prior to becoming governor of Bauchi State, he was minister of the Federal Capital Territory from 2010 to 2015, and Senator for Bauchi South from 2007 to 2010. He is a ranking member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Wing Commander (retired) Abdul Adamu Mshelia was Administrator of Bauchi State, Nigeria from August 1998 to May 1999 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar. When he took over Bauchi only three the 20 local government areas had electricity. Mshelia made few improvements during his brief term in office, but managed the elections for the first administration of the Nigerian Fourth Republic successfully, handing over to Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu'azu on the 29 May 1999. In June 1999 Mshelia was required to retire, as were all former military administrators.

Sa'adu Zungur University Gadau (SAZUG) (formerly Bauchi State University Gadau) is a state-owned university located in Bauchi State, Nigeria. Its main campus is in Gadau, with other campuses in Misau and Bauchi.

The Bauchi 2019 Gubernatorial Election was held on 9 March 2019 and concluded on 25 March 2019. The incumbent governor Abubakar Muhammad has lost to the PDP Bala Muhammed in the 2019 Bauch state Governorship election. Mr Bala Mohammed, the former minister of FCT, polled a total votes of 515,113 votes to defeat the incumbent governor Abubakar Muhammad who polled 500,625 votes.

The 2015 Bauchi State gubernatorial election was the 8th gubernatorial election of Bauchi State. Held on April 11, 2015, the All Progressives Congress nominee Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar won the election, defeating Mohammed Jatau of the People's Democratic Party.

The 2011 Bauchi State gubernatorial election was the 7th gubernatorial election of Bauchi State. Held on April 28, 2011, the People's Democratic Party nominee Isa Yuguda won the election, defeating Yusuf Tuggar of the Congress for Progressive Change.

The 1979 Bauchi State gubernatorial election occurred on July 28, 1979. NPN's Abubakar Tatari Ali won election for a first term to become Bauchi State's first executive governor leading and, defeating main opposition in the contest.

The 2023 Bauchi State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Bauchi State, concurrent with elections to the Bauchi State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Bala Mohammed initially declined to run for re-election, instead running for president. However, after losing the PDP presidential primary in May 2022, Mohammed was renominated in a rerun primary.

Ahmad Adamu Mu'azu CON is a Nigerian politician who served Governor of Bauchi State from 1999 to 2007.
