Students' Union presidents

The following students served as president of the University of New South Wales Students' Union. The presidential term ran from 1 January to 31 December of each year. The office bearer's national faction affiliation is shown in brackets.

Student Guild presidents

The following students served as president of the University of New South Wales Student Guild of Undergraduates and Postgraduates. The presidential term ran from 1 January to 31 December of each year. The office bearer's national faction affiliation is shown in brackets.

Jesse Young (National Labor Students) was elected in 2006 to serve as Guild president in 2007. He became the founding president of the Arc Representative Council, which assumed the Guild's representative functions.

University of New South Wales Australian university

The University of New South Wales(UNSW), also known as UNSW Sydney, is a public research university based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is one of the founding members of Group of Eight, a coalition of Australian research-intensive universities.

The Labor Right, also known as Labor Unity, is a political faction of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) at the national level that tends to be more socially conservative and economically liberal. The Labor Right is a broad alliance of various state factions and competes with the Labor Left faction.

The Labor Left, also known as the Socialist Left and Progressive Left, is an organised Left-wing faction of the Australian Labor Party. It competes with the more economically liberal Labor Right faction.

Solidarity (United States) U. S. socialist organization

Solidarity is a revolutionary multi-tendency socialist organization in the United States, associated with the journal Against the Current. Solidarity is an organizational descendant of the International Socialists, a Third Camp Marxist organization which argued that the Soviet Union was not a "degenerated workers' state" but rather "bureaucratic collectivism," a new and especially repressive class society.

National Union of Students (Australia)

The National Union of Students (NUS) is the peak representative body for Australian higher education students. As of 2020, there are 21 student unions in Australian campuses affiliated to NUS. A student union is eligible for membership by its classification as a legitimate student representative body at any Australian post-secondary training provider and the payment of Union fees by the union according to the number of full-time study units of its students.

The Organised Independents are a grouping within the National Union of Students of the United Kingdom.

<i>Tharunka</i>

Tharunka is a student magazine published at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Established in 1953 at the then New South Wales University of Technology, Tharunka has been published in a variety of forms by various student organisations. At present, Tharunka is published 8 times a year by Arc @ UNSW Limited. The name Tharunka means "message stick" in a Central Australian Aboriginal language.

University of Sydney Students Representative Council

The University of Sydney Students' Representative Council (SRC) is the representative body for undergraduate students at the University of Sydney. In addition to a student-elected council and student advocacy portfolios, the SRC coordinates a free Legal Service and Caseworker service for all undergraduate students at the University of Sydney. These services provide legal, academic appeal, migration, tenancy and study advice to students. The SRC has a reputation as Australia's most radical student union, and has been instrumental in leading student activism on a range of issues including education, feminist justice, environmentalism, First Nations justice and queer rights. The longest-running weekly student newspaper in Australia, Honi Soit, is funded by the SRC.

UTS Students Association


The University of Technology, Sydney, Students' Association is the representative body for students at the University of Technology, Sydney. It is based on level 3 of building 1 at UTS. It publishes the student magazine Vertigo. The association has departments which have previously worked collaboratively with the university to achieve practical outcomes for students, as well as ensuring that the university is held to account over its handling of student issues. Historically, this has resulted in numerous successful campaigns which have won rights for students in the university.

University of Melbourne Student Union

The University of Melbourne Student Union (UMSU) is one of two student organisations at the University of Melbourne, Australia. UMSU, incorporated as University of Melbourne Student Union, Inc. (UMSU) provides representation and services for all current students and the University of Melbourne.

The UWA Student Guild is the official student representative body at the University of Western Australia, representing the interests of students to the university, government and the wider community, as well as providing services to students. The Guild's published mission is to be Western Australia's leading campus student representative organisation.

Elections for the sixth Knesset were held in Israel on 2 November 1965. Voter turnout was 85.9%.

1931 Australian federal election Australian federal election

The 1931 Australian federal election was held in Australia on 19 December 1931. All 75 seats in the House of Representatives and 18 of the 36 seats in the Senate were up for election.

The International Confederation for Disarmament and Peace was an organisation formed by peace groups from western and non-aligned nations in 1963.

The Council of International Students Australia, or CISA, is the peak representative body for international students in Australia. CISA was founded on 7 July 2010 in Hobart, Tasmania and provides member associations with representation to the Federal government, and peak bodies such as the Australian Research Council, English Australia, ACPET (Australian Council for Private Education and Training, TAFE Directors Australia and Universities Australia, on issues affecting international students in Australia.

The La Trobe Student Union (LTSU) is a representative body for students at La Trobe University. The LTSU is located at the Bundoora campus in the Agora. The LTSU is made up of elected student representatives who provide advocacy, services, events and support for all La Trobe Students. The representatives include President, Education Vice President, General Secretary, Postgraduate Officer, Education Public Affairs Officer, Welfare Officer, Women's Officer, Queer Officer, People of Colour Officer, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Officer, Disabilities Officer, Social Justice Officer, Activities Officer and 7 General Members of Council.

The 1907 Massachusetts gubernatorial election was held on November 5. Incumbent Republican Governor Curtis Guild Jr. was re-elected for a third one-year term.
