Notable Achievements
In 2002, the UNSW Men's Touch side was named AUS-East University Team of the Year.
In 2006, the club's women's team won the silver medal at EUG played in Coffs Harbour, and in the name of consistency, again won silver at AUG's played in Adelaide. Up until this time, this was the farthest a UNSW women's team had progressed.
In 2007, the club won its first ever women's EUG title. Again the team proved consistent and won gold again at AUG's with a hard-fought win over Griffith University. At the same tournament the men's side took 4th place.
In 2008, both the Men's and Women's sides won gold at the Australian University Games, held in Melbourne. Both teams played Griffith University in the Grand Final.
In 2009 the UNSW Women's team was nominated for a prestigious UNSW Blues Award and was successful in winning, being announced Team of the Year.

Lacrosse in Australia is a minor sport, with a long and proud history dating back to 1876, with a small but dedicated community of participants and volunteers. The established centres for lacrosse are in the greater metropolitan areas of Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. In these cities there are organised weekend field lacrosse competitions for men and women at senior and junior levels, played over the winter months. In the off-season, there are informal box lacrosse and sofcrosse competitions, though the majority of players in Australia are mostly of the field lacrosse type. University sailing in Australia has gone through a process of growth, decline and now regrowth. Since the first inter-varsity competition in the 1960s in Adelaide, university sailing has played an important role in the Australian sailing scene. The first club to be established was the Adelaide University Sailing Club in 1959 and by the 1990s, many of the larger universities in Australia had either sailing or windsurfing clubs. The main classes of competition were Sharpies, Tasars, Lasers and 420s for sailing dinghies and the Original Windsurfer One-Design for the sailboard discipline. The clubs' organised regattas and social events were held each year which created an environment where sailing could be both social and competitive. University sailing made the sport accessible and financially easier for students without prior experience, while those with a competitive streak could compete in State and National class regattas as well as the all important Inter-varsity events.
InterVarsity Hockey refers to Field Hockey competitions in Australia between rival universities, dating back to 1908. The Men's and Women's competitions were organised and run separately until 1978, when they became a 'combined InterVarsity', before becoming part of the Australian University Games in 1993.
Underwater rugby (UWR) has been played in Australia since 2007 and as of 2016 is played in every State and the Australian Capital Territory.
The University of New South Wales Wests Water Polo Club is an Australian club water polo team that competes in the National Water Polo League. There is a men's team based at Ashfield and a women's team based at the University of New South Wales. Their men's team is known as the 'Magpies' and their women's team is known as the 'Killer Whales'. This was as a result of merger between the more women's based UNSW Killer Whales club and the more men's based Wests Magpies club. The merger started in 2009 and was officially completed in 2013.
Sydney University Soccer Football Club (SUSFC) is an Australian semi-professional association football club based in Sydney. Founded in 1946, the club has over 40 constituent teams with over 600 players competing in the Football New South Wales National Premier Leagues (NPL), North West Sydney Women's Football, the Eastern Suburbs Football Association and the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association. The Club is run by an executive committee elected annually by members.
Quidditch in Australia is played by a mixture of university and community teams. Due to the geographic demographics of the country, most major competitive tournaments are held in the eastern states. There are currently over 30 registered teams in the country.
