Television in Spain was introduced in 1956, when the national state-owned public service television broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) started regular analog free-to-air terrestrial black and white broadcasts. Colour transmissions started in 1972 after two years of test transmissions, with all programming transmitted in color in 1977, and colour commercials starting in 1978. TVE held a monopoly on television broadcasting until regional public channels were launched during the 1980s and commercial television started nationwide in 1990. Digital terrestrial television was launched on 30 November 2005 with analog service discontinued on 3 April 2010. Currently, television is one of the leading mass media of the country, and by 2008 was in 99.7% of households in Spain according to INE statistics.

LaSiete(English: The Seven), formerly known as Telecinco 2, was a Spanish digital terrestrial television channel, operated by Mediaset España. It began its broadcasts on 18 February 2008, replacing Telecinco Sport. On 18 May 2009, Telecinco 2 changed its name to LaSiete. In early February 2014, it was confirmed that LaSiete would become a telenovela channel. On February 14, 2014, LaSiete officially became a new telenovelas channel and broadcast telenovelas until its closure in May.

Úrsula Corberó Delgado is a Spanish actress. She became known in Spain for playing Ruth Gómez in the teen drama series Physics or Chemistry (2008–2010), Margarita de Austria in the historical fiction series Isabel (2014), and Marta in the comedy film Girl's Night Out (2015). She gained international recognition for her role as Tokyo in the crime drama series Money Heist (2017–2021) and made her Hollywood debut in the superhero film Snake Eyes (2021).

Luis Mariano Fernandez Pimentel is a Spanish investigative journalist, writer and researcher of the great enigmas and mysteries of the world. He has a degree in Journalism and Communication from UNUS, Universidad de Baja California, Mexico. He also holds a degree in Journalism from the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) of Mexico and from the Centro Nacional de Evaluación para la Educación Superior (CENEVAL). He belongs to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), an entity officially recognized by the European Union and the ONU agencies, being the largest organization of journalist worldwide. He has been director of the television program of research and interviews "Mis Enigmas Favoritos" on Mijas Comunicación, Digital Costa del Sol Tv, Spain, weekly. This program was also aired on numerous Spanish and Latin-American television channels.

María Luisa Fernández Bascuñán (1870–1938), also known as María Luisa Fernández de García Huidobro and by the literary pseudonym Monna Lissa, was a Chilean feminist writer, editor, and poet. She was the mother of poet Vicente Huidobro (1893–1948).

Margarita D'Amico was a Venezuelan journalist, researcher, and professor who made a substantial impact on art criticism and cultural journalism in Venezuela.

Montserrat Boix Piqué is a Spanish journalist, considered among the most influential women in her country. Concepción Carmen Cascajosa Virino is a Spanish lecturer, working at the Charles III University of Madrid (UC3M). Her main research line is the history of audiovisual media. She has been noted as one of the foremost specialists on television series in Spain. Since 2021, she serves as member of the RTVE governing board.
