Daan District is an important educational, commercial, residential and cultural district of Taipei City, Republic of China (Taiwan). The name of the district means "great safety" or "great peace".

It once owned stores in locations as diverse as Beijing in China, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, Taipei in Taiwan, Jakarta and Surabaya in Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Singapore, Bangkok in Thailand, London in United Kingdom, but most of these international branches are now closed or operated by independent franchisees.
Tianmu is a neighborhood located in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan. Located on the northern border of the district, Tianmu borders the neighboring district of Beitou and Yangmingshan National Park.

Dunhua Road, consists of Dunhua North Road and Dunhua South Road, also called 12th Ave, is a major north–south arterial in Taipei, Taiwan. It connects the Songshan Airport and the Songshan District in the north with the Daan District in the south, near the National Taiwan University. Dunhua Road is known as one of Taipei's more beautiful arterials, mainly because of the large, landscaped medians dividing the express and local lanes of the arterial. The arterial channels traffic coming to and from Songshan Airport throughout Taipei. Dunhua Road is divided into north and south sections, with two numbered sections in the south and no numbered sections in the north.
Zhongxiao Road is a major arterial boulevard that is part of provincial highway 5 in Taipei, Taiwan, connecting the Zhongzheng district in the west with the Daan, Songshan, Xinyi, and Nangang districts in the east. Zhongxiao Road is known as a popular shopping and entertainment area, with many large department stores and shopping malls located along most of the entire stretch. About half of the Nangang Line of the Taipei Metro runs under the road, with stations located at major intersections along the road, which accounts for the significant pedestrian traffic along the road. The majority of the road is 8-10 lanes wide with a median dividing the road. At the intersection with Zhongshan Road, there is a two-lane underpass for traffic on Zhongxiao Road to bypass the intersection.
Zhongshan is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by Taipei Metro. It is a transfer station between the Tamsui–Xinyi and Songshan–Xindian lines. It is located in the middle of the underground Zhongshan Metro Mall and near the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store. Zhongshan is a popular shopping district for young people and international tourists.

Citylink is a chain of shopping malls in Taiwan. It has four branches in Taipei, and a fifth branch in New Taipei is in preparation. All of the malls are connected to mass transit stations. The malls are owned by Ruentex Development Co (潤泰新), who opened the first Citylink mall in 2012 as part of the redevelopment of Songshan station.
