The Coral are an English indie rock/neo-psychedelia band from Hoylake, the Wirral formed in 1996. As of 2016, they have recorded over 150 songs, released on eight studio albums, one compilation album, three EPs and eighteen singles. The band's first single "Shadows Fall" was released in 2001 and four of their songs - "Dreaming of You" (from The Coral ), "Don't Think You're the First" and "Pass It On" (from Magic and Medicine ) and "In the Morning" (from The Invisible Invasion ) have appeared in the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart.

The majority of The Coral songs are written by lead singer and rhythm guitarist James Skelly, with many songs also being co-written by keyboardist Nick Power. Lead guitarist Lee Southall has written some of their songs, whilst all members of the group have co-written at several points and the band has also written together in collaboration.

The Coral

The Coral are an English rock band, formed in 1996 in Hoylake on the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside. The band emerged during the early 2000s. Their 2002 debut album The Coral, from which came the single "Dreaming of You", was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and listed as the fourth best album of the year by NME Magazine. Their second album, Magic and Medicine (2003), produced four UK Top 20 singles, including "Pass It On". In 2008, after guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones left the band, they continued as a five-piece.

<i>Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker</i> 2004 studio album by The Coral

Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker is a "mini-album" by The Coral. It was recorded over a week and a half in North Wales, at Bryn Derwen Studios, and produced by Ian Broudie who had produced their previous album. It is not considered a third album as such, more of a stop-gap between Magic and Medicine and The Invisible Invasion. No singles were taken from Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker. It was limited to 75,000 copies.

<i>The Invisible Invasion</i> 2005 studio album by The Coral

The Invisible Invasion is the third full-length album by The Coral. It was released on 23 May 2005 in the United Kingdom and entered at No. 3 in the album charts. The production is by Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley of Portishead, and most critics have described this album as a more stripped-down effort than their previous material. It was released in the United States on 30 August 2005 by Columbia Records.

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (song)

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is a song written by Paul McCartney, and first recorded and released in 1967, on the album of the same name by the Beatles. The song appears twice on the album: as the opening track, and as "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)", the penultimate track. As the title song, the lyrics introduce the fictional band that performs on the album.

<i>The First Session</i> 1997 EP by Hole

The First Session is an EP by American alternative rock band Hole, released on August 26, 1997 on Sympathy for the Record Industry. The EP features the entire recording of the band's first ever studio session on March 17, 1990 and also a twenty-page booklet focusing on the band's early career prior to the release of their debut studio album, Pretty on the Inside (1991). The EP marked Hole's final release on Sympathy for the Record Industry.

Son of Three 2002 single by the Breeders

"Son of Three" is a song by the American group the Breeders. Composed and sung by Kim Deal, its original version was recorded at Grandmaster Recording Ltd. in Hollywood, and was released in May 2002 on the album Title TK. The Breeders—then consisting of Deal, Kelley Deal, Jose Medeles, Richard Presley, and Mando Lopez—later re-recorded "Son of Three" at a different Hollywood studio as Title TK's third European single. This subsequent recording is shorter and faster than the album track, and matches how they were playing the song in concert in 2002.

Goodbye (The Coral song)

"Goodbye" is a song by English indie rock band The Coral taken from their debut album The Coral (2002). Released in July 2002, it was the second single taken from the album and charted at #21.

Dreaming of You (The Coral song)

"Dreaming of You" is a song by English band The Coral and is featured on their eponymous debut album, The Coral. Released on 29 October 2002, it was the third single taken from the album and charted at number thirteen. In October 2011, NME placed it at number 85 on its list "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years".

"Road Runner" is a 12-bar blues song performed by American rock and roll performer Bo Diddley, originally released as a single by Checker Records in January 1960, and later released on the LP record Bo Diddley in the Spotlight. The song reached #20 on Billboard magazine's Hot R&B Sides chart, and #75 on the Hot 100. The song has since been recorded by many artists.

Dream Fighter

"Dream Fighter" is the 8th major single recorded by Japanese girl group Perfume for their second studio album, Triangle (2009). It was written, composed, arranged and produced by the Japanese musician and Capsule member Yasutaka Nakata. The single included the B-side track, "Negai", of which a remix version appeared on the parent album. It was premiered on November 9, 2008, as the second single from the album in Japan. It was released on June 19, 2013, in European and Oceanic regions, and on June 25 in North America. Musically, "Dream Fighter" is an electropop song, influenced by dance music.

<i>Ya Ya</i>

"Ya Ya" is a song by Lee Dorsey. The song was written by Dorsey, Clarence Lewis, Morgan Robinson, and Morris Levy. Levy's participation in the writing has been called into question. In fact, the Flashback release of the single lists only Dorsey and Lewis as writers, as do the liner notes to the American Graffiti soundtrack.

New Amsterdam (song)

"New Amsterdam" is a song written and performed by new wave musician Elvis Costello on his 1980 album, Get Happy!! Written about the New World and New York, the recording of the song that appears on Get Happy!! was a demo that Costello had recorded in Pimlico.

<i>Love Undercover</i> (album) 2013 studio album by James Skelly & The Intenders

Love Undercover is the debut studio album by English rock group James Skelly & The Intenders. It was released on 3 June 2013, on Skeleton Key Records and Cooking Vinyl and reached No. 85 on the UK Albums Chart.

"Treat 'Em Right" is a 1991 song by rapper Chubb Rock. The song samples "There Was a Time" by Dee Felice Trio and "Love Thang" by First Choice.

<i>Distance Inbetween</i> 2016 studio album by The Coral

Distance Inbetween is the eighth studio album by the English indie rock band The Coral. It's their first album after a five-year hiatus, their first without guitarist Lee Southall and also the first with Southall's replacement, Paul Molloy. The album was released on 4 March 2016. The first single, "Chasing the Tail of a Dream", was released on December 26, 2015.
