The Livingston Educational Service Agency (LESD) is an intermediate school district in Michigan, headquartered in Howell.

History

The district was formed in 1962 when the Michigan Legislature created intermediate school districts in each county in the state. The district was originally known as the Livingston Intermediate School District, and was renamed in 1990 to better reflect the services provided by the agency. [2]

It is organized as a bicameral body composed of an upper chamber, the Senate, and a lower chamber, the House of Representatives. Article IV of the Michigan Constitution, adopted in 1963, defines the role of the Legislature and how it is to be constituted. The primary purpose of the Legislature is to enact new laws and amend or repeal existing laws. The Legislature meets in the Capitol building in Lansing.
